@ShootingStar: @sarah.clarisse: here too. Up every 2 hours or so and screaming, and for a couple of days she woke up every time it put her back down, so I ended up rocking her for several hours.

We are having the same screaming fits at night right now. He doesn't even wake up all the way - his eyes are often still closed. I'm pretty sure it's teething because his drool is even more over the top than normal and he's rubbing his gums hard on everything. I keep hoping the tooth will just pop through. But no such luck.

DS does this when teething. He just pops up and screams like he is being murdered. Scaring the crap out of me of course! Sometimes if he eats something that upsets his stomach he will do the same. But that's not as common

E does this while teething. It's a different cry and it's unsettling. It'll go on for a few days, then abruptly stop.

And at some point, the nightmares can start, and sometimes I think that's it.

@illumina: Maybe it is teething. He's had so much going on - a stomach bug on Saturday, a cold for the month, and last night he had a low grade fever. I attributed the temperature to being sick, but maybe it's all due to teething.

Sounds like it could be teething. S (7mths) has been making loud wailing noises maybe once every few weeks in the night for a few months now. We thought she was awake but goes right back to sleep or is still asleep whilst doing it. It seems to coincide with a tooth about to pop through. We have sleep trained so she knows how to put herself back to sleep so it isn't a problem. I wonder if sleep training will help your LO?

The past few days D has been waking up and full on shrieking. He's 5 months and used to go much longer between wake ups and now he's up every 2 hours, practically like clockwork. There's no letting him fuss it out, as he's screaming bloody murder almost immediately.

Last night he woke up 1.5 hours after a previous waking and I told DH to get him, that he didn't need to be fed. D screamed and screamed while DH shushed and rocked him and tried to give him the pacifier. After a few minutes I said I'd just feed him and then he kind of passed out when DH put him next to me in bed. Other times he's done basically the same thing, but only calms down when he's fed. I know he can go much longer than 1.5/2 hours between feeds. He just get so worked up and nursing calms him.

Is this normal? His sleep has been so bad I'd like to start considering sleep training, but now that he's not just crying he's screaming I'm starting to wonder if something's wrong. He has been sick, but it seems like it's starting to clear up a bit.
