Sounds like twilight sleep wake ups. The bane of my existence for both of my little ones ( although they do it for naps not at night )

Not much you can do, the funny thing is that often they are not even truly awake. My son is a really loud twilight sleeper and it sounds like someone is hurting him but he's not even really awake. If I go in there, he wakes up and gets really mad ha ha.

The good news is, it passes.

@Tanjowen: ok, glad to hear that it was a phase that didn't last long. I think I'll try your approach and just keep soothing until she goes back down and hope that does the trick! Baby sleep is enough to drive me bonkers!!

@catomd00: thanks... That certainly does seem to be the name of the game!

It's a phase and will pass. The only constant in infant sleep is that it's always changing.

I seem to remember my LO doing this around 6 months. It lasted about 3 weeks and then thankfully stopped. I would go in and rock him for a minute and then out him back down and repeat as necessary until he fell asleep.

Babies and sleep is a mysterious, and at times, elusive thing. Hang in there and keep to your routine and it will hopefully go back to normal soon!

Help! Another sleep question... 😕

We sleep trained my 5 month old baby using the Sleep Sense program two weeks ago. She was doing AMAZING after the first week. Taking amazing naps, going down with little to no fussing, no more pacifier walks of shame in the middle of the night. Could not have been happier.

The last three nights after going down for bedtime, she has been waking up about 45 minutes later screaming. She gets so worked up, so I go in to calm her down. Pick her up, snuggle, etc. but as soon as she's back in the crib, she starts crying and gets hysterical again. The last two nights I've been giving her the pacifier because it's the only thing that calms her down, but I really don't want to go back to her sleeping with a paci since she relies on me (multiple times a night) to replace it.

I'm so confused and can't figure out what's going wrong. I don't think it's a timing issue... She's tired, but not overtired when she goes down.

Any ideas? Suggestions? Commiseration?
