Not exactly the same thing, but similar. We watched and waited and it didn't fix itself so LO had surgery just after her second birthday. The pediatric surgeon was fantastic. He fixes dozens of hernias per week on kids. He was so gentle and reassuring. The surgery was less than 30 minutes and the worst part was coming out of anesthesia. LO was running around hours later as if nothing happened. Kids are resilient and this is going to be a lot harder on you than LO. I work with pediatric surgeons that do that surgery. It is a super easy recovery, not very painful at all, LO will prob just take a few doses of Tylenol. The thing most parent are the most concerned about is the anesthesia. If it is a fixed size that doesn't change (a hydrocele) then that usually goes away on its own. Make sure you see a pediatric general surgeon or a pediatric urologist. He said it is a hernia and we don't need to take LO into the ER tonight but it does need to be treated soon and he needs surgery. :sad: </p>
