He was still willing to nurse. Maybe try offering milk/formula in a different cup, or even a spoon or dropper? It really freaked me out at first and I was sure he'd starve to death! One time he barely ate for 3 or 4 days. My pediatrician told me not to be concerned, that it's totally normal, and that you just want to make sure to push fluids as much as possible until they resume eating normally. Def make sure baby's still producing wet diapers. Poor babies. The sucking hurt too much. She would eat some baby cereal from a spoon though. If you've started solids already, I'd try spooning something mixed with milk as another way to get liquids down. Have you tried water in an open cup? When my son had a sore throat he prefers that instead of sucking on a bottle or sippy. </p> <p>When he was sick at 10 months I couldn't get him to drink anything at all and he got dehydrated. No wet diapers in 18 hours so we had to get IV fluids. It could be her throat. My 18 month old was sick and refused to eat and was drooling like crazy. Her throat was so raw (viral). Basically it just really hurt to swallow so she didn’t. Doctor said to alternate Tylenol and Motrin to help with the pain. Her nose is REALLY stuffy and she's coughing. No fever.</p> <p>I'm concerned because she's not eating. She had a low grade fever on friday....ate 26oz throughout the day (which is just a little less than her normal). Then Saturday, she only ate 18oz and yesterday only 13! She won't eat any solids at all right now either.</p> <p>Neither of my boys ever ate less when they had colds. Is this normal? I called the ped and they asked me to bring her in (which I am), but they made me super nervous that something bigger could be wrong. </p>
