I usually stock up on the basics (leggings, tees, shorts, ect.) on sale at Carter's, Old Navy, or Target when they are on sale. Then I feel okay spending a little bit more of "fun" or special occasion outfits or dresses. Honestly I don't usually spend more than $20 on those though. Basics I usually keep to 4-5 a piece. totally doable with a sale/coupons/ect. She's so hard on clothes that I hate to spend too much, especially play clothes knowing they will most likely end up trashed when she's done with them or she grows out of them so fast.

I do spend more on shoes, specifically tennis shoes/daily shoes. I want her to be comfortable.

I still do a happy dance when I find items (new) for less than $5...just happened the other day at Carters in their clearance section!

The one thing I spend $$$ on is shoes and boots. I know a lot of people buy large, but I prefer to have just two pairs of shoes in rotation at a time and have them fit well.

It depends on the item and where I'm buying it. I try to shoot for under $10 for any particular item. Less for basic onesies. But there are sometimes things that I just have to have (especially sweaters, or dresses) that I don't mind spending up to $20.

yes I totally have arbitrary limits in my head!

I can usually stay around $10-12 per outfit for LO if I am shopping used/consignment or really buying off season and stocking up.

Up until now, I've set this arbitrary spending threshold for LO's clothes. If it's under $5 per piece (Top/Bottom) or $10 per romper I feel like I'm getting a good deal, and I buy it. Now that we're approaching 12+ sizing, I'm finding my $5 limit isn't cutting it anymore and I'm thinking of raising it.

Do you set arbitrary spending limits on LO's clothes? If so, what are they? Or maybe you have a totally different philosophy, what is it?
