We went to NYC and visited friends, went to a few museums, did sightseeing and saw a Broadway show. It was a pretty packed trip even though I was 6 months pregnant! It was a lot of fun and I'm really glad we had one last trip where we did things that were not family friendly. I can't imagine doing half of what we did with an infant/toddler!

@shopaholic: We didn't do too many activities..I was still super nauseous so we relaxed a lot! Very different from our other trips full of hiking, biking, snorkeling, etc!

@shopaholic - it rained lightly the night before our hike, so i was worried about the mud at first, but it wasn't bad at all - I just took my time and hiked at my own pace, and hubby held my hand through some of the more difficult parts. If you and your husband are the adventurous types, I don't see you running into too many issues. We brought our hiking shoes and camelbaks though because we had planned to do this hike before we got there! Make sure to bring A LOT of water, but other than that I hope you get to experience it. It's still one of my favorite memories about our Babymoon. :) I noticed we're neighbors too!! One of these days we should do a Socal Bee Meetup!! :)

We went when I was 9 months so we didn't go far, but luckily we live on the beach. I didn't want to do much, I was pregnant in the Florida summer so we spent a lot of time in the ocean and pool. We went to the aquarium and rode the jolly trolley and did a couple of touristy things like that too.

@mrshighheels - THANKS for that list! I will definitely be checking it out! And I'll be 18.5 to 19.5 weeks while we're there - so same timing too! :) You didn't worry about any of the "slippery red dirt" on your hikes? I keep reading on TripAdvisor that they advise against it because of how slippery and rocky the hikes are. I'm super excited to check out the waterfall you went to!
p.s. I'm gonna friend you on Yelp too since we're neighbors! lol!

i just booked our hotel for our babymoon. we're staying local and going to palm springs because i'll be 37 weeks when we can finally get away! seems crazy, but we'll be able to make it back if needed! and DH is in school full-time in another city, so it's the only time he has off!

i plan on lounging and getting a massage. :)

I was 30 weeks pregnant and we took a road trip to Washington, DC. It was ~9 hour drive and we did a lot of walking and shopping, went to museums and a Capitals game. We wanted to do a day of pampering but didn't have enough time.

Your babymoon sounds fantastic!

@shopaholic - we went to kauai for our babymoon too!!! i was 18 weeks pregnant and i did almost everything except ziplining (so sad). i hiked a bunch of different hikes (including a 6-hour one to a waterfall.. and swam in the waterfall... it was magnificent)... we snorkeled and went on a boat and kayaked.

here's a list of everything we did/places we ate:

Thanks ladies! I guess it sounds like eating and relaxing is the general babymoon itinerary! It will be a bit of a change for us, but probably a DREAM in about a year or less! hehe

@mrswagon & @mrskc - Massages are a great idea! I'll have to check how pricey those are and maybe book a couples one for us!
@runningelley - Newport Beach is our neighbor! :) Glad you liked it - it is a very chill area!
@travelgirl1 - American pancakes huh?! :) Love when you discover new/awesome eats on travels. And I love your username!

So jealous of your babymoon! Sounds amazing.

We went for a long weekend at the beach. We hung out on the beach, shopped, ate, went to farmers markets, relaxed and we both got a massage. It was very relaxing and fun.

We went to Newport Beach on a long weekend for our babymoon. I was 20 weeks pregnant. We walked around, explored, spent some time on the beach, shopped….just basically spent a lot of time relaxing! It was just what we needed.

Wow, that sounds amazing!!! We went to Chicago for our babymoon, I think I was about 30 weeks. I couldn't stay on my feet for too long so we didn't do as much walking as we would normally have done, but we still had a great time, ate a lot and really enjoyed the romantic time together. The only snag was the legionnaires outbreak at our hotel - put a bit of a dampner on things! Oh and I also got my first taste of American-style pancakes. Now I'm addicted!

We did the same trip, but too early in my pregnancy so I was still so sick most of the time. It was still nice to get away and just get to relax. Really enjoy the quiet and calm of the trip, just a simple dinner out is not the same after the baby is born.

awwwww have FUN!! sounds amazing!!!

our first babymoon we went to Martha's Vineyard and walked around the towns, picnicked on the beaches, and ate yummy food. Very low key. On our second, since we had a toddler at home at the time, all we wanted to do was rest. We went to Newport, RI and spent two days in a hotel going to spa appointments (massage, facial, and pedis for both of us!). We went to the town and wlaked around a bit before we left the second day.

ETA: we do NOT travel a lot... we're very low key. :)

Did you go/Are you going on a Babymoon? If so, where? And what did/will you do there?

We are going on our babymoon to Kauai in 2 weeks. I'm excited, and a little wistful that it will be our last trip "just the two of us". DH and I LOVE to travel. It's one of the first things we bonded over, done quite a lot of, and travel so well and easily together.

We both love adventure and doing a lot of things on our travels, so with all the precautionary advisories for a pregnant woman, I'm wondering how much stuff we'll do besides swim, snorkel, eat, and sleep. I'm sure by then I'll probably be exhausted, but still interested to hear what other babymooners did/are doing activity-wise.
