@junebugmama: if you're OK with cold, I love, love Chi-town. Another fun place might be Toronto. I love Toronto, and there's tons of great food there.

@MrsMccarthy: We are actually headed there at the end of the months with our little guy. I have family near there. Otherwise, it would be a great suggestion!

Go to Montreal!!! It's so beautiful. We were there in may and it was exquisite. A little slice of Paris in there but with its own flair. It's on the pricier side but worth I think.

Hey Junebugmama!

If your deciding between chicago and DC I would deff pick CHICAGO (my home town). Though I have to admit chicago is best in the spring/summer rather than the colder months.

I live in Westchester, NY and my husband and I are taking a babymoon around thanksgiving time to Canada (Quebec City). We are just going to drive there and stay at a cute B&B in town and relax for 5 days.

I travel a lot and my advice is.... take it easy. City's are great but they can be really hectic and take a lot of energy with so much to do. You could fly to florida and stay at a hotel off the water and relax by the sand a few days or escape to a cabin for some r&r and romance. ;)

@MrsKoala: @petunia354: @junebugmama: We should all get together sometime! (And I'm sorry you thread got so derailed, @junebugmama!)

This shutdown would have me leaning against DC, because I couldn't go see most of my favorite things (I'm a museum person), but if you're timeline is farther out, that's less of a concern

@MrsKoala: @junebugmama: I'm in CT too! Manchester for me.

We've stayed at a great B&B in Mystic, and had a lot of yummy food when we visited Burlington, VT, but we tend to have driving vacations, not flying ones. We did Niagara last year too, which is totally cheesy but way fun. Not so great on the food front though. The Poconos are on our list for the future as well.

I went to Chicago in college and had a great time though!

I'm 10 minutes from Hartford.

DH have decided this time around we're taking a 3-4 nights and having a baby moon. I haven't left Jax yet overnight, so I'm going to have to work up to it, but if we're going to have 3 kids next year, we deserve a little vacation!

We want to stay closer to where we live (maybe a 2 hour flight max we're in CT) Where would you go? We've thought about DC or Chicago maybe.
