@MommySLP: my son was kind of like this! Is got better when I stopped changing his diaper. Once he stopped pooping at night I would leave him swaddles, feed and lie back down. That seemed to help. We also hadn't him sleep in the rock n play. So I would slowly rock that and it helped him drift off.

I read that red light was less disruptive to sleep, so we changed our bedside lights to red bulbs. Also, is she just fussing or full on crying when you put her back in her bassinet in the middle of the night? If it's just fussing, maybe try not picking her up right away to see if she will eventually settle back to sleep.

@MommySLP: She still has her nights and days mixed up. Even if it sucks for you, keep things quiet and dark and reinforce that is nighttime and just wait it out (i.e. don't give up and turn the lights out and let her play). Then get her outside during the day to get sunshine on her to set that internal clock. For her, 1:30am may seem like getting up for the day right now, so you just gotta shift those hours. My second kid napped like a CHAMP during the day and then would not sleep at night because he was completely flipped 12 hours the wrong way and I thought I was going to die the first few weeks. We just really stuck to a set 730am waketime in the morning, threw open the blinds, and just ground it out even though I was sooo sleepy and wanted to sleep in with the baby. And after 730pm (our preferred bedtime), everything was dark and shut down in the house. We put dimmers on everything and everything was just dark and quiet so we could reinforce nighttime. Within a few weeks it clicked because daytime naps started to suck, LOL. Good luck!

@FaithFertility: @Revel: @agold: you are all right---I need to remember how baby sleep really is at this young! I didn't intentionally set a schedule, she just naturally fell into it. I'll try changing diaper before I feed and just keep on! I do feel very fortunate she's sleeping so well!

you are awesome to try to have a schedule at 2 weeks! Just do your best. The only thing I did different was that I changed my baby before I nursed her. Changing would be something that could wake her up. So maybe if you just nurse her straight through on both sides, she will get into a nice sleepy state. Good luck!

I am no help and am very envious of your long stretch of sleep! My LO will only do about 3 hrs and it's unpredictable. Definitely still sleeps better in the day. My ped said we could wake every 2 hrs or so to feed in the daytime to try to get him more used to waking in the day and get more feeds in him during the day but you can't really "keep" them awake at this age. She said by 6 ish weeks if should get better.

I have a 2 week old that is generally a good sleeper. We started a bedtime routine & she is easily going to sleep around 8:30/9pm and sleeping until 1:30-2am. She then nurses both sides. The problem is then she is wide awake & it's taking me 2+ hours to get her back to sleep. I've offered more nursing, which she's not interested in so I know she's full. I change her diaper inbetween sides so I don't disturb her after she's done eating. I keep all lights off, don't talk, try not to make eye contact. She's a very alert baby and she just seems as happy as can be to be awake. I've tried putting her back in her bed (next to ours) but she only lasts 10 mins or so before fussing. I have white noise on. I've tried keeping her daytime sleep to no more than 2 hours at a time. Anyone have any other suggestions???
