I bought a pair of robeez for her first shoes, although I usually keep her barefooted in the house. She doesn't really like walking outside yet, so the robeez, which are soft soled, work well.

LO is 12 months and I just kept him in socks all winter. I think it drove people crazy. ;) He has a pair of soft soled shoes from Target that he wears now, but honestly I keep him in bare feet or socks with little grippers at home. He is not walking independently yet, although he is cruising furniture and walks when you hold his hands.

LO1 was an April baby and didn't wear shoes until she was almost a year -- she just wore socks to daycare in the winter but usually pulled them off anyways! We got Robeez for her first pair.

LO2 was a Nov baby and had to endure a CO winter. I got her a pair of Zutano fleece booties after a month or so, mostly because they stay on way better than socks, and she'll do a lot of barefoot once it's warm. We'll probably do a pair of Robeez or similar once she starts to stand & walk.

I put DS in pedipeds when he wasn't walking at the pediatrician's recommendation at 9 months. To get DS used to wearing shoes before he starts to walk. Once he did start walking, I bought him a pair of stride rites.

I didn't put DD in shoes until she started daycare at 12 months. She also started walking around the same time. It just seemed silly before that and a waste of $$. It KILLED my grandmother though to see her with just socks, or even worse - bare feet! "Get some shoes on that baby!!" was her favourite phrase that year :p

I put her in Robeez when I finally did put shoes on her

We didn't put dd in shoes until 13 months when she was walking for a good 2-3 months inside and the weather was getting nice so she would be going outside at daycare. We got her stride rite stage 3 at that point.

When do babies start wearing shoes? And what kind of shoes are best for baby's first shoes? I'm absolutely clueless on this topic.
