@erwoo: I used to date a Taiwanese guy and he did "Love boat" while we were dating. I got a day by day travelogue of Taiwan. I definitely fell in love with the country. The guy was great too, but wasn't really comfortable with a partner who was going to have the career that his parents hoped for for him (while he went into insurance) ;)

@Mrs. Jacks: I speak Mandarin and understand a few words in Taiwanese. Haha! It will be a lot if fun bc ill be closer to family for once. I also can't wait to eat all the yummy local food. I was actually born there so I sort if know way around. I'm just thankful there is a Costco nearby despite the higher prices. Have you visited there before?

@duckduckkristen: Thanks, good to know! If I decide to continue with formula I will need to order in bulk b/c he's a little piggy. Just so glad we can still order non-liquid stuff overseas. :)

@strawberry: I'm sorry you weren't able to breastfeed but I'm glad that you found this to be a great brand to use. I wish I did more research about this brand when I started giving him formula. He didn't need to go on formula b/c I stopped nursing him close to 14 months but b/c the country we're moving to recommends formula until 3 I didn't want to introduce whole milk and then have to go back to formula. That might be hard... So I started him on Earth's Best and that's what he's drinking now. I didn't like the smell of any formula and EB tasted much better. From what I've been reading, this one is even better than EB. I don't mind having to supplement DHA. I think I read something about them having issues with that but have fixed the issue and everything that's been dated from early this year and on is good. It was something about having brown rice syrup that has arsenic. So glad it doesn't smell. I can't stand smelly formulas, especially after my oldest had to drink Alimentum until he outgrew his protein allergies.

@T.H.O.U.: It's okay. Any input is better than none. :) I also breastfed until he was almost 14 months old, but we're moving to a different country where their recommendation for formula is until 3 y.o. That is just wild in my mind...so I'm trying to figure out what I want to do w/o giving him the formula there which can be on the sweet side.

@Mrs. Jacks: Good to know! I haven't had much time to do more research on whether I want to continue with formula, do a mix, or just go ahead and let him drink the whole milk there and maybe supplement with vitamins? We're moving to Taiwan and my brother told me that doctors recommend formula until the age of 3. The formula there is also sweet as well which I don't like. My 4 y.o. nephew is still drinking formula 3x a day. Yikes! :) I will definitely check with his ped as well. He'll be seeing her next week for his 15-month check up. Thanks for your input! Really appreciate it!

We started using babys only when LO was 9 months old. He is now 14 months and drinks a bottle of it before bed and whole milk for his other two bottles. I have found that the cheapest place to buy it is directly from natures one. They give you $10 off you buy 2 cases.

I've used it for the last year (I was unable to breastfeed) and used it since my child was an infant. I did a lot of research on different brands, and I've been so happy with this product. You will need to add DHA to it, as it is not an included ingredient (I believe there is an article as to why on their webpage). It even smells a lot better than the other brands

There is new data coming out tht milk is really not a necessary food and that toddlers can get their calcium elsewhere. I'm not sure I would choose a toddler formula. My 3 year old weaned at age two and never drank cow's milk. I feel she eats enough yogurt, greens, and other calcium containing foods.

There are many cultures where children do not drink cows milk.

But you can check with your pediatrician too :)

Since we're moving to another country I've been researching what kind of milk to feed my 15-month-old. I found out that the whole milk there isn't fortified with all the great vitamins we get here in the U.S. and it's really expensive to get organic and harder to get as well. So I've been doing a little bit of research on formula, toddler formula specifically b/c he will be drinking this for a couple more years. I heard the formula in that country is really sweet and hard to find organic; and if I do it's really expensive as well. I plan on having him drink both whole milk and a toddler formula so he can still get everything he needs without having to take a vitamin which we all know is nearly impossible to feed a 15-month-old. Well, I think it is. :P We will have an APO address so I can still order non-liquid things form the U.S. That is going to help SO much.

Has anyone used Baby's Only Toddler Formula? I've read on their website that it's specifically for kids over 1 but is okay for infants with the approval of their pediatrician (which doesn't apply to us anymore). How is this compared to Earth's Best's infant formula which is what he's still drinking 3-4 times a day. I've read great reviews on Amazon and was just wondering if anyone here has experience with it and do you or your baby/toddler like it? Also, any suggestions on which website is the cheapest to order from? Thanks!
