I was a nanny who got both her jobs from Care.com! & I had/have a fantastic relationship with both families. It's hard to trust a stranger but I knew that was difficult & I did my best to make it as easy as possible. I hope that helps!

I haven't used the site, but I've heard good things. If you're going to be in the house, I'd try getting a new person - that way, you're not leaving them totally alone the first time they meet.

We found our sitter (1 to 2 days a week while I'm working) on care.com! It's a good site but I think you have to be prepared to meet a few people and choose someone you like. Good luck with the move!

I used sitter city which is a similar deal and it worked out great. I was looking for a regular sitter though so I did a lot of research and interviewing first.
If you will be in the house with your LO but just busy packing I would just get the same person for both days for consistency. It's not necessarily a bad idea to have the sitter come for a few hours on the day before so your LO will be a it more comfortable on packing day!
We moved a few months back with a LO and I remember how stressful it was! Good luck!

So we are moving friday, and have packers coming thursday to pack our house. My husband will be here friday but could not take thursday off so I will be alone with our 2 yo son.
I found a babysitter for friday, but not thursday. He has never had anyone other than family watch him (but all of our family is back east). Should I try to find someone (like on care.com) who can watch him both days instead of using two different people? Should i have that person watch him half a day wednesday so he gets used to her?

Anyone have a good experience with care.com?
