So not what you need! Do they have urban sitter where you live? Or maybe you could see if there is a job board at a local college? We had a crappy time interviewing sitters, and then the one we had ended up quitting after two weeks. Luckily, the one we have now is great. Initially I posted a "backup care" job when I needed to rearrange my schedule with our current nanny I got a ton of responses, but only a few followed up when o followed up with them. I ended up hiring 2 different sitters in their early 20s to come for 3 hours on separate days.</p> <p>The first one no-call no-showed on Tuesday. I was so upset. The 2nd one texted me today that her family was going on a surprise trip this weekend (yeah right) so she's not coming tomorrow. Ugh! </p> <p>I got on my local parent group on Facebook and a couple moms referred me to their high schoolers, but they weren't available for the days and times I needed.</p> <p>I decided to repost my job on Care.com tonight and I got a very thoughtful response from a teen sitter. I was so excited until she told me should would need me to drive her home. I guess I could, but damn that is inconvenient! </p> <p>All I want is someone reliable to come play with my cute kid and make sure he doesn't hurt himself. This mama needs some help! I wanted to cry when the first sitter didn't slow and tonight I actually did. Sorry, vent over. </p>
