I don't think changing the location will change the routine she has with you. I have found letting a sitter/my Mom/my Dad do their own thing works fine; with them only. I gave a loose framework of what we did so they could hit the major points and left them to figure it out.

We do everything differently with the sitter. But we are OK with that. We let her do her thing as she is their nanny almost every day so she knows them.

Same routine, minus bath, if they dont want to do it. But R is easy and she would be fine if it was different. She went to bed easier for my parents when they watched her overnight then she does for us.

We usually read books in our bed too. I think if we have a non family sitter I'd ask her to read in his room and bed T would be ok with that.

I haven't had a babysitter do bedtime yet, but my mom has done it and I didn't ask her to change anything!

When I've babysat, I've definitely had parents tell me that X part of their routine happens in the master bathroom or bedroom and I've never had a problem with that.

We used to do bedtime (books) in our bed and so when the babysitter came I told her if she was ok sitting in our bed to please keep the routine - she did and bedtime went smoothly! I don't mess with a good thing :silly:

Do you change anything for bedtime when it comes to babysitters?

Our bedtime routine for our lo includes time in our bedroom. She uses our toilet for potty and tooth brushing, and we all climb onto our bed to read books before we go to her room and sing. Do we just tell the babysitter to use our bathroom for the hygiene things and then tell her to read and sing in lo's bedroom? Or should we take the potty and toothbrush stuff downstairs and ask her to use that bathroom? I'm afraid that will throw our lo off...she's a routine junkie.
