Where are you? If you're in NYC, hire someone. Carriers were such a mystery to me (and the stroller so hard with the stairs in th building) that it was 100% worth it to pay for someone to come to our house to show us how to use them. We used Tiffany at MetroMinis - for $100 she came out and showed us how to use what we had in th house, as well as brought options to try stuff.

@miranlee: Be sure to get the size for your frame (X-petite, petite, regular, long, x-long) - it makes a huge difference. If you aren't sure, the company that makes them (Baby Holdings) has their own store called Nurtured Family (www.nurturedfamily.com) and if you call them they are really helpful.

@miranlee: I noticed a few differences between the two like the HAVA has a padded shoulder, less fabric to pull through the ring, padded rails, etc. It also came with a great DVD showing how to put baby in and adjust in different holds, which I found helpful.

Moby took me about five times until I was really comfortable tying it. After that it was fantastic for the first couple of months.

I only used my moby twice. We waited to wear our baby until we could use the moby without the infant insert.. I would keep trying with the moby. See if someone will help you?

I'd keep working with the moby. It's really easy for tiny kids... I just needed someone to help with it the first couple times and now I can just whip it on and off. There are some nice videos on youtube if you want to check them out.

I agree with @artbee:, what works and doesn't work for each family is different. I really like my HAVA ring sling but I have a friend that wouldn't give up her baby Bjorn for anything.

I think that different things work for different mommy's and babies, and baby wearing isn't for everybody. I had the bjorn and I could only wear it for about a half hour until my back would start hurting, which was fine because LO was done with it by then and started getting fussy. So I ended up not wearing her that often, she was usually happier in the stroller anyway.

Anyone else not getting the hang of babywearing? I read the guide on carriers but just haven't gotten the hang of any.

I tried the mammas milk sling, baby k'tan and the moby and found them all to be cumbersome for my 10 week old. The ergo infant insert is easier but she hasn't taken to it and her feet slide out of the bottom of the boba carrier in the infant position.

So, is this something babies just need to get used to? Was i too hasty with the moby? I know people love it.

Would love some advice!
