Huh- I always wore it just above my hips. It was comfortable that way and felt like the weight was on my hips, not shoulders, but I was glad it was winter and I had lots of layers on. It's hard to see a muffin top with a giant fleece on.

@snowjewelz: I haven't gone to an actual BWI meeting, but online in my local Facebook group they seem to suggest wearing the straps at your natural waist for front carry and at your hips for back carries. I am definitely gonna try it higher up!

My babywearing group suggests to buckle between boobs and stomach too, so they are as high as possible.

I put the tula waistband on my ribcage too, so all of my belly is below it. And it doesn't look awkward at all.

OMG, that is brilliant. I need one.

I also try to get her higher on my back by having the band up near my ribcage. Otherwise, it hurts my lower back/hips. I also just try not to look down at my ridiculous muffin top.

A tip that I learned was to bring the band up to my ribs. So it digs into my rib cage and looks much more flattering. Also, it puts him up higher on my back so he can see more over my shoulder.

I'm 18 weeks pregnant and when I wear my LO on my back I just look like I have a REALLY big muffin top, so I just untuck my shirt from the waist strap and have the shirt covering the waist strap. I don't know if it REALLY helps, but it makes me feel better! I've also seen pictures of moms wearing their tulas with the waist band high around their rib cage without a baby bump, so you could try that :)

I want to get a comfort tummy!

I put babywearing in quotes cause I hate that expression! I do love to carry my big little guy in my carriers though.

I know once they grow to a certain weight supposedly the back is more comfortable with ssc like my tula. All the pics I see online look so cute with happy babies and cute skinny mamas. Well that's not how I look at all! The strap totally digs in and seperates my belly into two unflattering and uncomfortable sections.

I need to learn how to use my babyhawk on the back, I could at least tie it higher up!
