Welcome back. It certainly does get easier!! Mine are three now and although each stage brings its twin difficulties it is never as intense as a new born.

My twins will be 6 months this weekend, I can hardly believe it!

@Ms.SK: I love that...the rules don't apply to me. It's so true. We just have to get through they day...and night :)

@sarahewhitford: You are in the trenches right now mama! I agreeit gets easier. They can entertain themselves and each other now...it's bliss! As far as sleep, on a good night we are up 3 times over about 11 hours. DD wakes to eat 2x and DS 3x. They share a room so they coordinate the wakeups typically. But honestly, there are still occasional nights we're up every hour or cosleep on the couch. DD almost always does a 5-7 hr stretch lately, but sadly we don't really get to enjoy it since DS still wakes...but at least one of us can snooze.

@sarahewhitford I wish I could say that I have fantastic sleepers but I would be lying. I think it is better because I managed to find out what works for us and not feel guilty about it. Pretty sure no one will agree with me but my kids sleep on their bellies and have since the start. I also bring my son to co-sleep after his 3rd night feeding at 2am. My son reverse cycle eats so he is up every 2 hours at night to eat. But I would rather that than to give them formula (it is a cost thing and has nothing to do with breastmilk vs formula). You have to adopt my mantra "The rules don't apply to me, I am a Mom of Twins" and then do whatever makes your life easy. It helps that my nursing sessions have gone from 45 min. down to 7 min. or less.

Thanks @winniebee! I loved reading about your little one developing during those power nursing sessions I mention above. But with tandem nursing I didn't have a hand to be able to post. Now I'm back at work, with a schedule in place, so I get a little time to hellobee.

Hello! I'm the mom of 7 week-old twins and we're still in the thick of the newborn stage. It's so excited to hear that it gets easier :-) How is their sleep going?

So I know I disappeared for awhile but hey, I am a Mom of twins so I give myself every excuse in the book! My twins just turned 6 months this week so I feel ready to re-enter the world. So much has happened and rather than post about the past I will just say to every new Mom of twins, it really does get better! I have EHMF this entire time and my next goal is to keep with it until they have teeth. I breastfeed at home and pump at work. We are doing BLW and having so much fun.

What's new on the twins board?
