Snoogle is the best. I just flip side to side when I readjust at night, leaving the pillow where it is. So worth it for knee, back and belly support.

@Smurfette: I didn't toss and turn a lot towards the end. I was getting up to pee about once an hour though, and would switch what side I was on then.

are you using a regular pillow under the belly? in the 3rd tri i bought this pillow off amazon and it was a god send. seriously. it almost entirely eliminated my back pain from sleeping and was cheap :)

I was too cheap for a preg pillow, but I keep a pillow behind my back (sometimes tucked slightly under so I can lean against it), one in front of me to hug and one between my lower legs. And 2 under my head. No back problems at all at 33 weeks, but DH is counting down the days til I get rid of the 3 extra pillows; he hates them!

@Smurfette: I actually kind of like turning over because I get back support half the night and belly/arm support the other half the night. I don't turn the whole thing over, just switch positions inside my "c".

I think I'm going to have to get the snoogle or something. My husband has a tendency to roll over in the middle of the night and use ME as a pillow which is soooooooooo uncomfortable!!! Maybe if I had something between us, we'd both be happy!

@Smurfette: Yeah, I think that's, unfortunately, a necessary evil with any sort of pregnancy pillow if you're using it specifically for the back support. I keep the Snoogle in the middle of the bed and the king-size pillow on the other side of me. When I turn over (so that the Snoogle is in front of me and no longer against my back) I use the Snoogle between my legs and as a hugging pillow and the king-size pillow behind my back. I use another pillow on top of the Snoogle for my head, because I get a sore neck if I just use the Snoogle.

It's not ideal, but it will have to do for another 13 weeks, I guess....

@Smurfette: Maybe with the snoogle, it's so comfortable you don't have to toss and turn???

@hergreenapples: @FutureMrsMcK: @JoJoGirl: Sounds like I need to upgrade to the snoogle. My only concern would be then I have to move the whole pillow when I toss and turn in the middle of the night. The one I have now, has a section to lay your head on, but I don't use since it was too hard since I move so much at night. I use it upside down and then the whole pillow moves with me between my legs. Does that make sense?

I used the snoogle...slept so the C was spooning me and the bottom came up under my belly. Towards the end I also buffered my whole body with my comforter.

I was also going to suggest a Snoogle. I'm 27 weeks, so not as far along as you, but DH got me a Snoogle for Christmas and it is very helpful. I even use it while sitting on the couch and watching TV and find it quite helpful there too.

You can use the Snoogle so that it's behind your back for support, and then the front wraps around to go between your knees and under your belly. I use mine with an additional king-size pillow, because I need something to hug, otherwise my chest collapses and gets sore.

@Adira: I sleep with something similar to the snoogle. Maybe I just need to get another one. Then I would have one for between my legs and then one to go against the back. DH will love it. Already says I take up most of the bed.

I wish I had advice for you. :( I'm in the same situation - 32 weeks and I really struggle to get comfortable in bed. Everything just hurts, whether it's my back or my hips or an arm!

I've heard wondeful things about the snoogle - maybe try one of those? You may need something against your back so you can lean against it and not be totally on your side OR flat on your back, but more angled. Perhaps that would help?

I am almost 31 weeks but for the last couple weeks my back pains have gotten a lot worse. I have been using support while sitting at my desk at work, and that is helping. Even sitting on the couch hurts, but I finally figured out how to adjust the pillow so it doesn't both me that much now.

The biggest issue is I will feel fine then I lay down in bed. Then every time I turn over on the other side or get up to use the bathroom (which both are multiple times a night), it really hurts. I feel like an old lady every time I have to get out of bed. Sometimes I try and just roll myself cause sitting up makes me wince in pain. I sleep with a pillow between my legs and underneath the belly. I am not sure what else I can do to support my back.

Is there anything else that I can do to give the back support? Or another sleeping position to try?

I am scared how bad it is going to get as I get even bigger in the next 9 weeks.
