@Little Misters Mom: I was given some great pumping tips http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/medela-letdown-button#post-1972367.

Pumping pretty much constantly on let down mode has been the game changer for me!

@Little Misters Mom: in addition to fenugreek and mmt, I found taking magnesium and calcium supplements during af time help me keep up pumping supply on my office days! Hope the transition back to work goes smoothly for you!

@regberadaisy: That's hugely comforting. I'm hoping it's just my body getting used to the extra pumps.

@Little Misters Mom: hey! Glad it went OK. My first few days the output was terrible as well. But I'm now pumping enough to meet my LO's intake. And sometimes extra. Good luck!

@regberadaisy: Thanks! It didn't end up being so terrible. Though I only pumped 10 ounces (over 4 sessions, yikes) and DS drank 18 oz in that period. Really hoping my supply rebounds.

Also - remember that BM is good at room temp for 8-10 hours. I never even needed an ice pack. By the time I went for my first pump, I only had 6 hours left of work.

@Adira: A book is a good idea. Any recs for something light and fluffy? I was thinking maybe Amy Pohler's new book.

@regberadaisy: Thanks, I didn't realize that. I'm going to bring one to test out and see if it's easier.

Of course yesterday I got my period again, and my supply is completely tanking. So I'll be adding Mother's Milk tea and loads of Fennugreek to the list, and just hoping my coworkers don't wonder why I smell like waffles all the time.

@Little Misters Mom: nope, the Dr Brown bottles screw right into the flanges. It's not a perfect tight fit but it works.

Some sort of cooler or something to transport your milk home? I just use a little lunch box with an ice pack, though I know the Medela PISA comes with something for this. Also, what will you do while pumping? I always brought a book to read. :D

@regberadaisy: oh ice packs, I'd forgotten! And something opaque to store milk supplies in work fridge. I'm not sure how to pump right into the bottles, do I need an adaptor? I have Dr. Brown's and several other types.

@Little Misters Mom: hm looks good since baby will be home. I found it helpful to pump into the bottles baby will use directly to save on dishes. My Dr brown bottles work on the Medela and Ameda pumps

How about snacks for you? Food is more readily available at home. Some videos of baby on your phone to help with output. Oh and ice packs!

So, after 6 glorious and challenging months my maternity leave ends Monday. I'm trying not to focus on feeling sad and instead on being prepared. This is my list to check off before bed tomorrow. Am I missing anything to help making week one smoother? DH is staying home with DS for 6 weeks, so I don't need to worry about getting him to daycare.

--Pack all pumping supplies (parts, pumping bra, ziplock bags)
--Pick out and iron week 1 outfits
--Wash and do hair
--Make sure I have all my work IDs and paperwork
--Crockpot dinner for leftovers
--Pack lunch
--Bring pictures of baby
--Prep bottles to leave with DH
--Prep diaper bag for DH

Anything missing?
