I bought pants one size up. Sometimes I wore a pair of maternity pants--the demi ones I wore in early pregnancy. Great for things like khakis and dress pants. It tided me over, basically. I go back to work in the summers, and I wear a lot of dresses and skirts to bridge the gap until I can wear my regular clothes again

I went back at 7 weeks and needed some in-between clothes, too.
I bought some dress pants that came in S, M, L from NY&Co., and skirts with the same sizing. I also relied on dresses because they were more forgiving of a few extra pounds and nursing boobs. I purchased a few wrap dresses and shirt-dresses.

ETA: these pants were amazing for those first weeks back at work

Buy clothes in your new size to fit your new shape. There's nothing worse than those mornings where you are trying to squeeze into stuff that pulls in all the wrong places.

I bought pants at a discount department store.

Dresses have been my go to for work. They are more forgiving and have lasted longer during my postpartum weight fluctuation.

I wore my preggo pants until I gave in and bought my pants 1 size bigger. I lost all the weight, but they just didn't fit the same.

What did you wear late in your first tri? Can you re-purpose those pieces now? I'm 10 weeks and heavily relying on stretchy skirts at the moment!

Do you like dresses? They worked great for me for that in between stage

I bought (and still am buying) 1-2 sizes up from my pre-preg size. Things fit very differently than they did before even though I am close to my old size.

I bought new shirts and tend to keep my bottoms basic. I have a pencil skirt, ankle pants, and a few other skirts that I rotate during this season. I also bought things I felt good in, but they didn't cost a lot, especially in the in-between stage.

I am returning to work in a few weeks when I'll be 12 weeks postpartum. My pre pregnancy clothes (especially pants) don't fit my hips yet. I still am hanging onto the last 5 pounds. I need a few pieces to buy to go back to work. What should I look for? I don't want to buy a lot because I anticipate losing the weight but I need enough to get me through the week
