The two I've seen consistently recommended for longevity are the Evenflo SureRide and the Safety 1st Guide 65. We actually have both, and I prefer the Safety 1st, but the Evenflo is good, too. They're both under $100.

@Emsmems: I was just going to suggest the Cosco Next! We have it as a spare for our 17 month old but I'm pretty sure that our almost four year old is also still under the rf'ing limits (just!).

Walmart's Cosco Scenera Next is cheap cheap ($50 or less) and lightweight! We use it as our travel car seat. It only goes to 40 lbs but that should get you to 2 years old at least!

We will be starting daycare shortly and I know that it is a real possibility that others will be assisting with pick-up. Looking for a car seat recommendation that is easy to install and can be used for a while rear facing (goal is at least 2 years old), light would also be nice.

Baby is 7 months old and above the 95th percentile for both height and weight. Not looking to break the bank but I do want to make sure it is easy to install and not too heavy, the seat will likely be in our garage and then whoever needs it can install quick in their car. Thank you!
