It is a little bigger than you need for just quick errands around town, but when we went it a big outdoor museum, it was perfect to hold water for me and LO, a change of clothes for her in case of potty accidents, snacks, sunscreen, hats and my wallet, phone and stuff. We do use it as our pack for short day hikes too, and got it on sale.
