I have a great cheap Target backpack for outings. It's black stripes so dirt won't show easily, it's water proof and lots of room to put everything in. Plus DH can wear too.

Otherwise if it's not a big day trip, I have "fashion" back packs that I wear.

@erinbaderin: I got the kanken in the mini version for quick trips and to just toss in the stroller. Wallet, phone, keys, diapers, wipes and a snack. Extra onesie for the baby. It’s so great and non fussy;
I love it. And surprisingly roomy!

ETA: I like it so much I might ask for the full size for Christmas or something.

I got this crossbody backpack when my oldest left diapers behind. Its perfect for my wallet, some waterbottles, snacks, sunscreen and a few other odds and ends.

https://www.mythirtyone.com/us/en/giftsbycrystal/product/4538/sling-back-bag-charcoal-crosshatch

I also got a few of these zipper pouches, I keep them stashed with different things. Like one has all the diaper fixings for my 2 year old. Another has a change of clothes for both girls. A third has snacks/hand wipes. So I can easily throw those in the bottom of the stroller if we are out for longer periods of time. Other wise, they stay in the car so we're set when we're out.

@Mommy Finger: I finally splurged on a Kanken before we took a big trip this summer. I went for the laptop version because the straps are padded and we packed the bag pretty full and often carried all day. It's held up very well (we've only had it 3 months but used pretty heavily) and my favorite feature is that you can lay it down and zip open like a suitcase so you don't have to pull everything out to access stuff on the bottom. We're pretty frugal but it is worth the price to me, especially if you can catch a sale.

ETA: It's also pretty waterproof - my water bottle opened up on our most recent flight and everything OUTSIDE the bag got soaked (including my purse) but the water didn't make it inside the bag - our tablets, laptop, and papers were safe & dry!

@erinbaderin: Aw man, I was actually in the store yesterday as my friend was picking up a purchase but I didn't think to look around as I thought they would be too spendy. Kicking myself now!

I really like the Fjallraven Kanken - it’s generic, sturdy, and holds a lot without being enormous.

I just bought this one and I like it: https://www.amazon.com/Parker-Baby-Diaper-Backpack-Insulated/dp/B074HXT4W2/ref=sr_1_13_sspa?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1532962731&sr=1-13-spons&keywords=diaper+backpack&psc=1.

I ended up getting a diaper style one because all of the interior compartments make it easier to stay organized and the cooler bag compartments help keep the water bottles cool I've only had it for a couple weeks but so far so good.

My boys are old enough now that we don't need a diaper bag and won't really need a stroller when we go out anymore. Therefore, I'm looking to get a backpack to make it easier for us to carry things while we're out. I'm thinking a change of close, water bottles, lunch, sunscreen, that type of stuff. Any suggestions?
