Her lunch didn't fit, only her extra change of clothes, and the artwork def did not pick. So when I picked her up from school, I had to carry the bag, lunchbox, other artwork in one hand and held her other hand. We used it for pre-k, k and now we are using it going into grade 1. We got the matching lunch bag (and a yumbox!) and have used it all solidly for 2 years and we will get at least one more year out of it before she outgrows the backpack, not because the bag is worn out. My preschooler doesn’t bring a backpack because with a dedicated cubby (even the part timers have dedicated cubbies) there’s no need for a backpack. They have small ones and then regular size backpacks. I was thinking since she is only 3 the smaller one makes sense, but then again with snow stuff or other layers for outside it may be better to get a bigger one.
