I have worried about this at every sleep regression and it has always gone pretty much to normal after. So I say whatever it takes. Then again my toddler has never been a great sleeper...

@snowjewelz: ugh DS was falling asleep on his own for night and naps until this week. So to me it feels like a huge setback. From what I've read, everything is supposed to go right back to normal after the regression passes but that it can last 2-6 weeks. I guess I haven't slept well in 9 months, what's a few more weeks?!? 😭

I honestly nursed and rocked DD to sleep anytime she needed it. At around 8 months she started STTN, and I also let her try to fall asleep by herself and she was able to. DD is 16 mo now, and if she needs I will always help her go to sleep and after each phase she is able to go back to falling asleep on her own!

I def take the gentle approach when it comes to sleeping.

DS is 9 months today and I think we've hit the 8/9/10 month sleep regression. Everything im reading is saying to make sure not to create any bad habits during this time. I.e. Rocking to sleep, nursing to sleep, etc but to make sure baby gets sleep so he isn't over tired. Well...:DS is refusing to nap unless it's in my arms, while being rocked and nursing to sleep. Pretty much all the bad habits you can think of! He's waking multiple times at night (about 3) and won't go back to sleep unless I nurse him. (I do not nurse him to sleep at bedtime) Oh he's also cutting his 8th tooth and working on his molars. 😫

What's worse, rocking and nursing to sleep or overtired?? I don't know what to do!!!!
