@brownie: Glad to know we're not the only ones!

@rattles: That's not oversharing at all! I appreciate your input. I'm hoping that our troubles are just due to DS getting used to nursing with more teeth, like you said. I actually never though of showing DS what to do with my mouth, but I'll give it a try! Thanks

We had to adjust our latch in the last month or so too (DD is 14 months). She was getting lazy and just slurping in a little bit of nipple, and I think she was adjusting to nursing with more teeth. I find it helps to show her what I need her to do, opening my mouth wide and asking her to do the same. I also find that it hurts more when she kneads it closer to her mouth than it does further up by my chest. She's old enough to listen when I ask her to do something differently, and when she doesn't, I just take her off and sit her down until she's ready to cooperate. That all sounds like overshare, but hopefully it's helpful! I hope it gets better!

Everytime his mouth changed we had issues. I think around 13 months their gag reflex moves back.

I've been spoiled as DS and I have never really had any issues with breastfeeding. All of a sudden last week it started to really hurt when he nursed on my left breast. I'd try to nurse him on that one as little as possible, but now both breasts hurt when he nurses! Almost unbearably so. He has 7 teeth and isn't getting any new ones except molars. Has anyone had this problem? What do we do? I don't want to stop BFing, but I don't know how much longer I can put up with this :(
