@NovBaby1112: She's 5 months... It was amazing! Today's my birthday so I think she was giving me the gift of sleeping in :) Maybe we should have shorter nap days more often? I always thought that "sleep begets sleep" so I don't know...

My older DD was the same. She didn't like to nap for long so she slept 12 hours at night. So I never believed the sleep begets sleep thing. Kids are all different.

@edelweiss: What is crazy is last week one day she one 2 hour nap, and another day 3 1/2 hours. I never get more then an hour and half. Then this week, it has been Nap Craptastic week or something.

@Smurfette: LO is the same way at daycare. it's been several months and he usually averages about 45 minutes per day TOTAL. we get home and i feel like it's a race to get him into bed within 45 minutes.

@NovBaby1112: my LO's sleep is all over the place during the day, but luckily it doesn't affect his night sleep too much. so i have no idea whether to believe all those sleep rules.

@NovBaby1112: I know. Her teacher said they tried everything but she would fall asleep and wake up 5 mins later, so they didn't even write those down on her sheet. I hope she naps better today. It is so hard cause we only get like an hour together at night before bed and lately it is less cause she isn't napping and so so tired.

@RubyCali: how old is your LO? that is awesome! yea mine was overtired right before bed too but we rushed through our routine and she passed right out.

@ALV91711: i hope so too, but i have come to find that nothing ever stays the same with baby sleep, LOL

@Smurfette: oh man, only 35 minutes all day at daycare?? poor thing :(

I'm wondering the same! LO napped much less yesterday but once we put her down last night she fell asleep without a peep and hasn't woken up yet (it's 6 am). The overtired hysterics right before we put her to bed were really rough though.

Tuesday, R napped a total of hour and half at day care. Took a 20 min nap at home and STTN. Wouldn't go back to bed after her 5 nursing session.
Wednesday, she napped 15 mins on the way to day care, 35 mins ALL DAY at day care, and then 20 mins on the way home. Then woke up at 1, and then 5, and then I had to wake her up at 630 to get ready to leave.

So I have no clue! My child is all over the place with sleep and naps.

I swear my LO defies all sleep logic. Yesterday my DH was home with her and she took a good morning nap of 1.5 hours, but he put her down a little too early for her afternoon nap so she only slept 45 mins and woke up at 2:45pm. She refused to go back down for another quick nap after that, so when I got home around 6, we just decided to put her to bed around 7.

So she was up from 2:45pm to 7:15pm on only a 45 minute nap and she freaking STTN! I was preparing myself for a horrible night with wake ups every 2-3 hours, but I was shocked when she slept until 5:30am.

Do you think it was a coincidence? Now I am wondering if maybe my baby needs less day sleep to sleep better at night?
