I EP pumped and also hated the Medela bags, I ended up giving mine away. I pumped into a bottle and used lansinoh bags without any issues.

ETa: I would keep my pump parts in a ziplock bag in the fridge and wash them at the end of the day.

@pmerr: I really don't like the Medela bags at all. I also use either Target Up and Up brand bags or Lansinoh or Honeysuckle (buy on amazon). They all hold way more than the Medela bags and will freeze flat.

For work I just take two 5 oz bottles. I pump in them and then dump the milk into a bag (I can fit 9 oz in 1 Up and up bag). Then I store the milk bag, the used bottles with the pump parts still screwed on top in an insulated lunch bag that I put in my work fridge. For my second pump, I pump again in the same bottles and parts. The second pump I just keep in the bottles till I get home and then I pour into storage bags.

I don't wash bottles or parts at work.

I actually hated the Medela bags, so I don't know how helpful this will be, but I would look into Lansinoh and Ameda. The Lansinoh were my favorite because they are so thick, freeze really flat, and don't leak. BUT, the Ameda have a little tear-away spout on the side that makes pouring bottles SUPER easy, so I use the Ameda. If only Lansinoh made a bag with a spout, I'd be in love.

I use either the lansinoh bags or target brand breastmilk storage bags. Although it seems annoying to use bottles at first you can just rinse them out (or keep them empty in the fridge) and just wash when you get home. I've also scotch-taped a bag to the pump part when I was desperate once, and that worked ok!

I've been trying to look for bags similar to the Medela Pump n Save bags, but no other brand makes anything like them. I'm tired of paying tons of money for those stupid bags (I haven't had any issues, but I'm not too crazy about the bags). I know there are tons of tricks, and I could take bottles with me, but it's nice to pump directly into a bag and not have to worry about dropping/spilling.

I EP, so I need to store milk in bags, but not sure if I stop using milk bags and just use regular freezer bags how to do it. (Do I want to put a day's worth in a larger bag? Put 2 bottles worth in one bag? etc) I also only have 7 Medela 5oz bottles. J only sees a babysitter 1-2 days a week when DH needs to do some work, so that's the only day I'd need 4 bottles (I pump twice a day-about 6oz each time)

Advice/suggestions?
