So our first flight was delayed and we missed the next two. but on the bright side it wasn't weather related so we got a meal and a hotel voucher. We are staying at a pretty nice marriott. Granted a chance of clothes and PJs woukd be great but sure beats staying in an airport. The hotel has one of those big fluffy white comforters that are so nice. It might even beat getting in at midnight and dealing with my parents then haha.

Hugs!!! Whenever I'm miserable, I daydream about taking real vacations. You know, because dreaming isn't possible when you don't sleep!!

Hugs! I feel your pain, albeit at a lesser level. We are away for 13 days, fly across country, then when we're there we move around from house to house almost every night (I think the longest we stay is two nights) because my DH's parents are acrimoniously divorced so we have dozens of holiday things to attend on either side of the family. I have a 5 month old who doesn't sleep. I just wish we could stay home and laze around for 13 days rather than undertake this exhausting endeavor.

I feel your pain. Pregnant with a nasty chest cold and not allowed to take anything for, and have an 18 month old sick with a tummy bug...that she's now passed to me. Hubby is not terribly sympathetic, he thinks I'm "bad at being sick" and need to toughen up. Ugh. You're allowed to be a bag humbug in your situation!

@jedeve: pshhh no way. You're pregnant and have a sick kid. You don't need a new outlook, you need a bit of sleep and some sympathy. :)

@jedeve: Sounds like you need to work on your "look." I.e. "Man I'm tired" "Me too" *the look* that says "are you f*cking kidding me? I am battling your normal parenting exhaustion with pregnancy exhaustion with home-all-day-with-a-sick-baby exhaustion. Shut your face."

Or, you could just say that once and see how it works out for you :) I feel like my husband can sometimes be a one-upper if I ever complain about being tired or not feeling well or whatever, but as soon as he started that with pregnancy I pulled out "the look" pretty quick and he just let me be tired and sick haha.

DH and I are both sick (throat infections and flu like symptoms) and there's a flight advisory posted with bad weather at both our starting point and destination. I want to crawl in a hole and die, I am so with you, but have no energy to hate anyone right now, ugh :(

Thanks guys. Glad to hear I'm not alone!

DH has been bugging me a bit too. I've been super tired with first trimester fatigue. Every time I say I'm tired he lets me know he is too. He's been cleaning the kitchen at night so I can lay down earlier. And helping with the laundry a little more. He is taking LO to daycare in the morning instead of getting him at night but I still get him up and ready.

I work three days a week so I do most of our housework. All the cooking and cleaning and bills and grocery shopping. Plus I've been home with a sick kid for most of the past 10 days.

I wish he would just let me be more tired. I know I know it's not a contest and comparison is the thief of joy and you can't start doing that in a marriage. But...let me just have this one.

Hugs to you, mama! I don't have to travel very far so I am of no use but I definitely know the feeling like everyone around you is taunting you! I hope your LO feels better soon and that you get a little rest this Christmas!

I'm so sorry. That sucks and I would hate everyone too.

I already hate people who don't have to fly for Christmas, but we have a direct flight and a not sick baby. You have every right to be a scrooge right now.

LO has been sick for ten days now. Took him to the dr this am and she said it could be a sinus infection and gave him an antibiotic. We fly cross country tomorrow.

I hate everything right now. I hate people who don't have to fly for Christmas. Who didn't have to spend $1300 on plane tickets. Who can get to their destination in one flight not three. Who don't have to drive an hour after they land. I hate the people who aren't flying witha sick kid. I hate the people who are going to hate us for flying with a sick kid.

I hate people who are single and posting all over Facebook about how they are spending the day baking and shopping and watching Christmas movies or how they slept in this morning. That's great. My husband and I took turns holding out baby until about 5am when he slept for three hours. I hate how my husband doesn't do well without sleep. I hate that my mom is always telling me how lucky I am and how jealous my sister is that I'm married and pregnant again. Because while yes, it is a blessing, there are times it is just hard and I wish I was on a beach in Mexico.

This just sucks. Sorry to be such a downer. And I don't really hate anyone. Too many times to type out strongly dislike though.
