I tried to buy there in 2005 but was priced out of the market then. The prices never really went back down after the boom, and now they're going back up again! It's a tough market. The traffic in Columbia/Ellicott City is absolutely ridiculous. TBH, I can't ever see myself moving back there. Then again, I now live in an area where the traffic isn't *too* bad. If it was comparable, I'd consider it in a second. Which is good and bad at the same time. I’m vaguely familiar w/ New Market and think that’s too far for us, unfortunately. DH would be working downtown, maybe occasionally in Owings mills, and ideally wants a commute under 30 minutes. I feel like Columbia is about the furthest we’d be willing to live and thought that was where we’d look, but I’m totally unimpressed with the listings I see (at least on Zillow).
