Oh there is also a zoo just a short drive from the inner harbor. Nothing like the DC zoo, but another option for you!

Play cafe is another short drive in Hamden. It's a little cafe that has a play area with some toys (doll house, blocks, etc). There's always a good amount of other kids and parents to chat with. A short walk from there is a natural baby store Greenberries. They used to have story times and such, but I haven't looked into it in a while so I'm not sure if they're still offered....

I live in Maryland and I agree that the Aquarium is worth the trip. I haven't been to the Science Center with a toddler but I know lots of people who have taken their kids to Port Discovery and liked it.

Inner Harbor is nice to walk around and there are some shops and restaurants right there. There are dragon paddle boats and the duck boat tour too!

The aquarium is a must! There is also Port Discovery, the children's museum, which is not far from Inner Harbor. Inner Harbor itself is fun to just walk around and they have Duck Boat tours that launch from there. You can also rent paddleboats.

My sister used to live there, so I can ask her for some tips.

There's tons to do! From the inner harbor you can easily walk to the science center (they have a toddler room), the aquarium, and port discovery (children's museum).

There's great shopping in Harbor East (another 5 minute walk from the aquarium) And Fells Point. Fells point is beautiful - fun little shops and restaurants, and there is a small playground there but it's not the greatest. you can definitely find some green space along Thames street to play, too! Patterson Park is huge but you'd have to drive.

Walking around the inner harbor is a lot of fun. You can walk from there to Fells Point. There is the aquarium there, as well.

My husband has a conference to go to in mid May in Baltimore (about 2 hours from home so we'd drive). He scheduled classes for Sat (4 hours) and Sunday (8 hours) then Monday and Tuesday he could come and go as he pleased to different work shops or speakers. We'd would probably drive down friday night and drive back tuesday afternoon. We'd be staying in a hotel near/at the inner harbor (not sure if they would let us do a suite). I'm torn between wanting to make a mini vacation out of it or just staying home and solo parenting. I also dont know what activities we could do around hubs schedule or what i could do with our daughter solo. I dont want to just sit in the hotel room waiting for my hubs to be done classes.

So far I was thinking Aquarium on sat afternoon, and maybe catching a ball game.

Any locals that can tell me fun, easy to get to spots we could go? Children's museums, parks/playgrounds, shopping?
