I am so sorry. I know much of a pain in the arse it is to deal with. We were in Mexico over Thanksgiving last year and got an email from our bank saying fraud activity. That is so awful and SCARY! We've never had our bank account hacked, but someone charged $5K on our credit card for 2 plane tickets and even all their baggage fees, and we were so upset at the violation of not knowing how they got our number/billing address/exp date/etc. I didn't even see it until I went to pay the bill and was shocked that our monthly balance was double the normal amount. I work in that industry so I'm trying to think of ways to protect your accounts. Why do hackers do this?!? We noticed yesterday some transfers to our account that shouldn't be there, and DH called to let the bank know that there must have been an error. Meanwhile, the bank called us to let us know a suspicious bill pay had been flagged and stopped. Basically, someone hacked into our account an transferred money from our linked credit card to the checking account and then tried to do a bill pay for the amount. So, the bank changed every checking, savings, and credit card number yesterday. Today. . . our money is gone again and there's another transfer from our credit card. I've spent over an hour and a half (and countig as I'm curretly on hold) on the phone with the bank today while they try to figure out what the bleep is going on.</p> <p>Kill me now. I'm not even going to apologize for the pity party I am throwing myself! </p>
