@Kemma: that's kind of what I'm thinking, that the bigger stroller will be more convenient when I'm alone. I did some googling and found a map that shows the handicap/stroller accessible metro stations. Although, I'm already used to walking everywhere, so I'm not planning on using public transit too much, especially not by myself.

@lamariniere: I don't have any specific advice but I would imagine that if you're planning on being out with both kids all day then the bigger stroller might be the better option? And you could possibly buy a cheap umbrella stroller for the days you don't want / need the Bugaboo?

@blackbird: thanks! We already booked an air bnb place and it looks like it's in a good location, at least, on the map. That's great that it was so warm in late December! We are going in just over 2 weeks!
@illumina: nice, that's pretty ideal, especially if it is sunny.
@Seattlemom: good idea, they do have really cute kids stuff.
@travelgirl1: great! How terribly stroller unfriendly? This is the part I'm wondering about most. Our Maclaren is really bumpy on cobblestones, only one kid can ride in it and DD doesn't sleep well in it and the basket is tiny. But it's light and compact and we almost always travel with it. With the Bugaboo (it's a single) it's huge and heavy, but a better ride over cobblestones and we have the roller board that DS could stand on, so I could push them both, and I can put all of our stuff in the basket easily.

@lamariniere: My friend is there with her 20-month-old right now, when she gets back at the weekend I'll ask her! We did it with A when she was nine months, it was fine, but not very stroller friendly.

@lamariniere: My friend says that: "it's not very stroller friendly--"sort of" b/c of the streets are cobblestone and very bumpy. A lot of areas are crowded, it would be hard to navigate a double stroller. We used a baby bjorn the whole time and he loved it. I suggest wearing the 10 month old and having the 4 year old walk. We went 2 years ago after Christmas and it was great--70ish degrees and on the mediterranean sea. Go see the sangrada familiar--so expensive but worth it. we used airbnb and stayed in an apartment in the middle of town for super cheap. great deal. What other info do they need?"

Lemme know if you want me to put you in contact with her :)

I only went for a long weekend while I studied abroad but we took a bus everywhere. I don't remember walking a ton as compared to other cities. Don't know if that helps with which stroller to bring!

@Tanjowen: Thanks for the suggestions, especially the chocolate! Yum!

@illumina: I'm hoping it will be warm enough to go to the beach...or at least warm enough to sit there and stick our toes in.

I went a couple of years ago, pre-LO, so I can't say I was looking at things with LO's in mind...but what about Parc Guell? The Gaudi sculptures are quirky and it should be safe enough for LO's to run around. Otherwise, the beach?

Mt. Montjuic would be a fun place for all of you. There is a bus system that takes you to the top of the hill, and your 4 year old would love the fort! There is also a little village on the mountain that offers a look at authentic old village life, and make sure to take the cable car down - the views are fantastic!

I remember the city being very easy to walk and navigate, but I didn't have a stroller when I went. I would also suggest a visit to the Barcelona Market and do lunch. Make sure to visit the chocolate stalls, because Catalonia chocolate is amazing!

We are going to Barcelona in a few weeks with our LOs who are 10 months and almost 4 years. My husband will be at meetings during the day, so I'll be doing a lot of soloing with the kiddos. Any recommendations?

Also, I went to Barcelona maybe 10 years ago, so I don't remember if it is very stroller friendly. I'm debating whether I should bring our Maclaren and babywear or our Bugaboo with roller board so that I can push both kids and not have to babywear so much (I get tired and hot baby wearing for long periods of time). My older LO will walk, but not all day.
