I used this for years in college, but I think my body/skin changed since then, and it started sliding around in my face a little too much for my taste. I now switch back and forth between a number of foundations: MAC studio fix liquid, Diorskin Nude, Dior BB Cream, and makeup forever HD foundation. But i LOVE the bare minerals blot powder compact!!

Also, if you like bare minerals, everyday minerals, i found, was the same quality for cheaper. They have more options for color too!

I think it depends how much cover you need. It's good for light coverage, but I don't think it looks natural when you need more coverage. Studio FX from Sephora is a great but light foundation that I use when my face is misbehaving. I also like Laura Mercier's tinted moisturizers for a medium coverage.

I use it and really like how light and fast it is to put on. It doesn't seem to cover all my imperfections, at least I don't think. They actually just came out with a foundation I'm curious to try.

I second getting a good brush, I use the Sephora mineral foundation brush with it. I found the bare minerals brand brushed fell apart on me.

@Coco Bee: Did you try the matte version of the foundation? I am not a fan of the original, but the matte is much more oil absorbing.

Another vote for! I use their foundation and really like it, and I've found that I can use a bit more on problem areas (thanks, pregnancy) and go lighter on areas that are clearer, and it still looks pretty natural. It's a little pricey, but I think it lasts a while, so I haven't felt like I'm breaking the bank with it. That said, I only use their foundation; for eye makeup and other stuff, I do drugstore/Target available brands.

@April_Showers: thanks for the tip with the brushes. Makes sense about the oils but no one ever told me about having to replace the brushes and i pretty much had the whole line at the time. But i gave it all the way bc the kabuki brush was making my face burn after I put the foundation on. Oh well.

I love it, but I think the brush quality has gone down hill (and it really requires a good brush)-I bought a new brush like 2 years ago (because the handle fell off my original one) and it doesn't seem to go on as well with the new brush. I've started wearing garnier bb cream and when i need full coverage, i'll wear my bare minerals foundation...when i'm just putzing around, ill do the bb cream and bare minerals faux tan and it just makes my skin look fresh. I think the BB cream helps it stay on and not look so clumpy if you have dry or uneven skin (I've done primers with it too, and they're awesome, I actually wore bare minerals on my wedding day with laura mercier primer and it stayed on great, but the BB cream is a lot cheaper and I think more versatile)

I used to use Bare Minerals, but I have found the the Loreal version seems to work the same for me. Its cheaper and you get a new brush every time. The Loreal also lasts longer on my face. I'm cheap so I didn't like paying $25 a month for foundation. Loreal goes on sale at Target for $12 or BOGO alot. :)

I use it and I love it! However, I spot conceal with a regular concealer and use Benefit Erase Paste for under eye circles. They say you can just use the concealer brush with the Bare Minerals and that works but it didn't for me. With that said, I like that I can only conceal the spots I need to and not slather foundation on my face and it gives me more coverage and more staying power than a regular loose powder.

I use the Matte version - my skin is a little on the oilier side!

@looch:  I think it's the Well Rested :)

I've been using bare minerals since like 2001 and love it. daily I use the lotion or primer, foundation, well rested, blush or warmth, and mineral veil. I love that it's super light and doesn't feel like I've caked makeup on, but the coverage is fantastic. I highly recommend it. I have normal skin, not oily or dry. But on sticky days or whenever I get a little shiny from humidity, mineral veil stops it and keeps it at bay. Mineral veil also works great as a dry shampoo in a pinch

I use it & love it! There is an original version and a matte, I use the original because I get dry. It covers shockingly well! I still have regular concealor that I use from time to time when I have a bad breakout. It can settle in creases after a while which bothers me, but a primer underneath will prevent that. Just to give you an idea of how much coverage you get while still looking like skin, here's mine on DH's arm

I have very, very oily skin, and I don't like it that much anymore. I keep using it basically because I don't have a better option. I also have bad acne, so I have two choices: Just cover the acne spots, which leaves me looking uneven elsewhere and cakes by noon, or cover everything, which settles into my pores and cakes by noon. I've tried primer, too! I think I'm just doomed though to never be able to wear makeup well, thanks to the oil slick that is my face.

I wear it and LOVE it. The girls in our boutique here are very knowledgeable about the products. I love that my skin doesn't react to it. I agree wth PhillyBaby though...if you are prone to dry skin it can call attention to it, but the primer does help keep your skin supple for application. On my really dry days though I wish I had a liquid foundation. But I think their newest Ready Go foundation is supposed to be better.

I have everything...primer, concealer, foundation, warmth and mineral veil. Daily I use the primer, foundation, warmth, and mineral veil and it does amazingly well for covering up. You just pat on a little extra. When I am going somewhere nice...need extra make-up then I use a little concealer too.

@Phillybaby2013: I have this issue too with their brushes. I asked about it in the store, and they said that it sounded like my brushes lost their natural oils which keep the brush soft. If you don't wash enough...or with the wrong products it can cause this to happen faster. She also said that with regular daily use all make up brushes need to be replaced about once every 12-18 mths. HTH!

I used to use it and liked it a lot but my skin got sensitive to the brush after a while from how u apply it so I stopped. The only thing I noticed is that if my skin was really dry and occasionally flaky in spots it drew alot of attention to it but that's really with any makeup. It definitely covers well. I used to love the concealer.
I was actually considering going back to it recently.

I did buy the primer to put underneath it (to help it stay on longer) but have found that I only really needed that in the summer, when it melts off quicker from sweating!
