Thanks for the replies. I had a feeling I was doing it wrong.

@agold: Fortunately we aren't having any issues. I'm filling out LO's kindergarten registration forms and I recently came across the same question on a life insurance form.

I would think you are NOT under a physicians care. I ran into this problem with my last pregnancy. I saw an RE and then at 12 weeks, the RE was done with me. So I went to switch my medical group so that I could go to an OB I wanted. The insurance company told me I was “under a physicians care” so I couldn’t switch medical groups. I was so upset. No physician was caring for me. But because I was pregnant, I had a condition for which I was already being treated while in that insurance group. Darn. For sure when I got pregnant this second time, I took my pregnancy test at home and switched groups before any doctor saw me! Good luck with whatever you have going on.

Maybe I’ve been answering it wrong. I’ve just been saying yes because we have a regular doctor who we can call if something comes up.

I would say that you are not under a doctor’s care. I assume that question is asking if you have an ongoing issue that requires an MD’s oversight.

I’m feeling stupid because I see this question all the time but I don’t know if I’m answering it correctly. If you see a doctor for regular physicals and minor one-visit issues are you under a physican’s care? Or does 'under a physician's care' mean you have a doctor managing a specific ongoing issue?
