You all are so wonderful. Thank you!
I love hearing it from moms who used. Love the info direct from the source.

@Mrsbells: I think I saw that exact one on a local BST group. The "gliding" caught my attention and sounded like a nice feature.

@maddyz: Yeah I am with ya there. I also make huge babies. My first was 9 lbs. This one is measuring well ahead and I have been having extra u/s to make sure she isn't TOO big.

@PawPrints: That was the bassinet we had. I think my last DD was the 6th baby to have used it.

@GreenThumb: That's how I used my PNP last time. Space to sleep and change my last LO downstairs.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: Woah! Weird how that happens.

@Ms. RV: I am not sure. Depends on her and how well she sleeps. Once she starts sleeping better she will go to the room next to ours. Which our 4 yr old is also in. My 4 year old can sleep through anything once she is out. But I still don't want a crying baby who is up a lot to disrupt her.

We do have a Rock n Play, but I don't want to use it unless it becomes necessary due to reflux/gas etc...

I have my PNP that has the "bassinet" that lifts it higher. But it is rather large, but if it comes down to it, that may work.

Thanks again ladies. I will continue to watch my local CL and BST. Just cant Justify spending a lot when this is the last kiddo and it may only be used a couple months.

another one that had the arms reach cosleeper used for $50 and at least 4 other babies (including my second) used it, so it's gotten its use! and i know once i'm done with it, i can sell it again for $50. but with my second, we also used the RNP because she was very gassy and being upright helped her settle!

@Ms. RV: yes, same exact one! My LO is almost a year and could still fit in it but probably not for much longer. I tried putting my older one in it at 18 months and it was too small. Both are a bit shorter than average.

I planned on using the bassinet from my UB Vista until she outgrew it but she hated it. So we did rock and play (which my pediatrician knew about and was fine with) until she started fighting it, then a mini pack and play (graco travel lite with stages). The regular pnp was too big for our room and we got the mini as a hand me down. She slept in our room, then eventually the master bathroom, until we moved around 9 months.

How long will this LO be in your room? We used a Graco Travel Lite Crib and loved it. It has two heights for the insert, so it lasts longer. We still use it (no insert) at 16 months for travel (though DD is very short for her age).

We used a bassinet at first, then set up the crib as a sidecar to our bed. I liked the sidecar arrangement way better and will just start with it next time. The arm's reach cosleeper is a similar concept, just smaller. I see cosleepers for sale all the time in resale shops.

I make huge babies so we got a babyhome bassinet. It was the biggest one I could find. Our bedroom is really small (yay NYC apartment living) and lo needs to be with us as long as possible. I also didn't want to buy something but lo1 out grew the Moses basket by 2 months so i knew I needed something with more room.

I don't think you can go wrong either way. We used a bassinet. It had wheels and was super portable which was helpful for us. We had my mom and then MIL with us and they would take shifts with the babe and this allowed us to have her still in the same "bed" she was sleeping in. We could also move it to another room during the day for naps. The wheels helped it "rock" - I could reach one arm out and move it around.

@MrsSRS: I was just looking online (because so many of my friends have used the RnP for sleep), and it's pretty amazing how much they have helped babies with reflux!! What a relief for those families, I'm sure!

@littlejoy: that is absolutely true. But we deemed it an acceptable risk for our reflux baby. The second baby had a much stronger neck and better protected airway so we decided to use it again. Definitely not a risk everyone is ok with and I should have said as much in my suggestion!

I was under the impression that Rock and Plays were not recommended for sleep, as it doesn't fit the safe sleeping (SIDS) guidelines and isn't endorsed by the AAP.

We did a cosleeper, sidecar style, and loved it. Once baby started moving around more, we put her in the pack n play (raised up version).

@Rescuemom10: That stinks about your bassinet! We used the PNP bassinet last time, but wanted something smaller this time so I did pick up a used bassinet from someone in town to use in our room. We are going to use the PNP downstairs this time so I have a place to change the baby and possibly let her nap. :goodluck:

We loved our Arm's Reach co-sleeper mini. You can find them for fairly cheap on BST groups or CL. The one we own has been passed around my friends and has been the first bed for 6 babies (and counting) and worked well for just about all of them.

I don't know....But as of right now that's what I am thinking because my last DD hated the bassinet we had, and I just do not want to spend a ton on one this one wont like especially since we don't plan to have more.

I am due in 4 weeks. This LO is going to stay with us in our room for much longer than the last. I had a bassinet and I borrowed it to a friends who's husband accidentally got rid of it. So now with the exception of the bassinet feature in my Pack n Play I have nothing. I really do not want to spend a ton, because we don't plan to have anymore, and I HAD a bassinet, but on the same hand I want something that's going to last us until she starts sleeping better and longer lengths at night. I am keeping an eye out on local BST and resale boutiques. But what do you all recommend or have you loved for babes who were in the room with you for awhile.
Thanks in advance.
