@Sunshine710: We were told the opposite for my DS's eczema - nightly bath followed by a moisturizer - we got the best results with Vaseline!

He luckily grew out of the the eczema though - in the summer we do nightly baths in the winter every other night

@Mrs. Bee: thank you! LO has had a persistent rash around her mouth. We've been using a+d and aquaphor but it keeps coming back!
Which one do you use? Is there an ingredient list on the site?

@Sunshine710: we bathe nightly. DS gets eczema from food allergies and the pedi just said to bathe in clear water (no soap) when it flares up. I still usually use soap on his hands and face though.

No playing in the bathtub?!? How sad!

I bathe my 13-month-old two or three times a week, and he thinks it's a HUGE treat to play with his ducks. He gets so excited when he hears the water running! I usually use Burt's Bees lotion on him to make sure his skin doesn't get too dry.

@Mrs. Bee: Thank you! I will absolutely check that out.

I'm hoping once this all clears, we can go back to bathing more often, he loves it and I love when he's clean. I do get that it can dry their skin out so will just play by ear.

We've always bathed both kids every night. it's a part of their bedtime routine.

@Sunshine710: try this eczema cream:

http://www.hoskingspharmacy.com/baby-infant-face-rashes.htm

it has been a miracle cream for just about every skin condition in our household, and it cured my friend's son's severe eczema when absolutely nothing else worked.

@locavore_mama: Will check out the oatmeal bath for sure, thanks! Fortunately the eczema is localized to under his knees. We got some cortisone so hopefully it clears quickly now. Doc thinks its from food allergies :( We are getting some testing done.

Our LO is almost five months and we do a bath almost nightly. Sometimes though we just use water, no soap. She has a few dry patches so I'm hoping not using soap all the time will help. She loves it do much that I hate to stop.

I try to do it every night but sometimes he comes home from daycare so screaming tired it's all i can do to feed him dinner and get him into bed. I'd say 3x a week? He never sits though so baths are super quick.

@Sunshine710: that's a little different when your LO has eczema. I would def bathe him less too
And probably just wipe down his diaper area, face and hands nightly. Also did they mention Aveeno oatmeal bath? My nephew had pretty severe eczema and my SIL would bathe him in that once a week.

We enjoyed our nightly routine, but little guy has eczema as of the last month so we were told to go to 2x a week immediately. The doc (not our normal doc) scolded us for doing every night. He gets so dirty I'm not sure how we'll all adjust to this.

We do it when he is dirty, or if it has been a few days... probably 1-2 x a week. But we definitely let him play because he loves it and it wouldn't be unusual for him to spend an hour. The water gets chilly and he doesn't seem to care! DS is 23 mos.

We started incorporating bathtime into LO's bedtime routine before she turned 1 year old, so to answer your question, we bathe her every day! Baths are pretty short, probably under 10 minutes.
