Did you try ebay for a replacement part? I'm not sure if this one would fit your Beaba

FYI - downloaded the manual from their website. And I watched a couple YouTube videos. The lines for the later are on the main pot part. It took me a while to find them - they're not that visible.

I would try it with an apple, that's how I "learned" my machine, lol!

For the water, mine came with a little measuring beaker. There is a guideline, like you need more water for peas than you do a juicy fruit, but I found I would start with the least amount of water and then add more if I felt the food wasn't cooked enough. When I started combining foods, I found I might have to do 2 cycles to get everything cooked properly. I would start with the food that took the longest.

Yes, try it without the steamer basket. The only function it has is to keep the water out of the food, so if you can't replace it, it's just going to mean you need a separate strainer.

I always used the cooking liquid to thin because I felt (and this is just my opinion, not science speaking) that I wanted to put those nutrients back into the food. I found I used very little of the water for things like peaches, apples, potatoes and more for things like string beans, peas, broccoli. I also used the machine to puree meats, but honestly, I wouldn't do that again, it wasn't worth it!

I loved this machine, I really did. Even when my son was past purees, I kept it on my counter to steam veggies for dinner! It's perfect for 2 large or 3 small servings for adults!

@looch: Ahhh I have so many questions...

--"plastic round piece" The lid thing? If that is what you mean then yes. I wondered what that was for.
--So just steam the food right in the cup without the basket? And then drain the water out?
--Is there a guide for how much water for steaming different foods? The manual online says measure out the correct amount of water but I don't know what the correct amount is!!
--"reserving the water. Then add some back in as you puree." Did you add in breastmilk/formula too or was this enough liquid?

You are a HUGE help. THANK YOU! I'd love to make this thing work for me!

I had that one as well! I used the heck out of it

When you use it, the most important thing is to make sure that you've locked the cooker and cover together, then locked the whole thing into the base. The steam enters from the side and if you don't have it locked, believe me you will know it!

Since you don't have the basket, you may have to drain the food, because you will need to play around with the proportions in terms of the puree. For example, sometimes I steamed things that required a lot of water to cook, but not a lot to puree. So until you get the feel of it, cook and drain completely, reserving the water. Then add some back in as you puree.

Also, this wasn't obvious to me the first time I used it, but you have that plastic round piece right? You need to put that on when you puree otherwise you will make a mess!

@looch: Oh really? I have this one. How do I do that? That would be the easiest. It didn't come with directions either LOL

I think they have a facebook page, maybe try there?

If it is the older model, I think you can use it without the steamer basket, if you plan to puree right after.

I bought a Beaba babycook from craigslist a few months ago and when I went to use it last week, I discovered that it was missing the steamer basket. I can't seem to find a location to buy just that basket. Has anyone else needed replacement parts for theirs and know where I can look for them?
