We had an older version (from last year), but on our trip we ended up getting a second one, which was a newer version. It's even better than our model from last year. You have to be careful if it's windy. Though that would be a concern with anything you'd use. We did find that getting real sand anchors was helpful. I think the anchors it comes with are better for grass. It has a little padded 'mattress' that goes in the bottom, and raised sides with a canopy.
