@catgirl: I bought one of the dock and bay ones. It's fine. I mean, it does exactly it's job, especially the "being small" part, which is what I was looking for. Like other said, the texture of that as a towel for your body is weird and my husband was like NOPE.

@MACSUNSHINE: thanks! That was the brand I had been considering for microfiber. Still not sure how I will feel about them and I have a feeling my husband will hate it too. I think At this point I’m going to get the Turkish towels but might still just get one microfiber one to try.

@hitchhiker: Thanks! That’s a great price for the set! Might grab another set by the same brand.

@Baby Boy Mom: Thanks for your thoughts!

@erinbaderin: Thanks! We typically bring chairs to the beach as well as a dedicated large towel/blanket/sheet to put down, so these would be towels specifically for drying off.

Another microfibre hater - it just feels gross, plus I find it doesn't actually absorb water, it just kind of spreads it around. We got some Turkish towels on Amazon that I love, the only thing is I feel like they get really wet. Which on the one hand is great! But if you want to also spread them out on the sand and sit on them I think they're probably not great for that.

Turkish towels are the best- natural fibers, soft, and dry super fast. We only got them this past year and I seriously don't know how we managed without them. I've used them even as a sheet in a pinch. We have microfiber as well but they don't dry nearly as well and the kids hate them.

I absolutely hate microfiber (like I get the chills just thinking about rubbing that fabric on my body).

I got this 5 pack of Turkish towels from Amazon before my kids started camp this year (they swim 2x per day there) and like them just fine. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01FUCLO4S?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

We have used Dock and Bay microfiber for a few years and they have held up well. I like them, they take up hardly any room, dry quick, sand does not stick to them. My kids are not huge fans but tolerate them. My husband hates them. I still bring a mix of towels since the microfiber is just so easy and light! They are an investment but we are at the beach pool 2/3 weeks during the summer and I have had them for at least 3 years now with very little wear.

I want to get some new beach towels, I think I want either microfiber or Turkish towels.

We have traditional towels that we love but they take up a huge amount of space in my bag, take forever to dry, and are so heavy when wet. We go to the beach/lake a lot and I really want my bag to be less stuffed.

So any one have a microfiber or Turkish towel they love? Or any that you wouldn’t recommend? Thanks!
