@snowjewelz: we ended up leaving the baby with my in-laws and going winetasting in Canada. :)

I'll be following along to see what replies you get now, though; we may attempt a warm weather trip this winter as well with all three kids.

@snowjewelz: we went to siesta key just outside of Sarasota. That whole area is nice. The water is SO calm since it's bay side. Marco island is also really nice and family friendly. The flights were so easy and inexpensive out of ewr. Sarasota is basically the easiest airport ever. We stayed at a friend's condo so I don't have hotel reccs. There were plenty of hotels and such and also stroller and gear rental places.
We ended up cooking a lot (we rented a car)

The beaches were so great, flat and water calm.

@Anagram: I looooooved it. We had a blast. The only downside is that they don't have suites, so were all in 1 room, but we don't really stay up late anyway so we just kept the kids up a bit later, and then once they were in bed we hung out on the balcony. We used the Kids Club a little bit, mostly for the baby's morning naps - we'd push him to sleep in the stroller then leave him in their air conditioned nap room, get a phone, and they'd call when he woke up - but all the kids who were there seemed to be having fun, they did lots of activities and stuff with him. For afternoon naps we put them down at the same time and then one of us would hang out on the balcony with a book and a drink and the other person got some free time. The food was good, the staff were great, and it was really really not crowded - I assumed it was because it was the week after Christmas vacation ended but apparently they were actually full, they just don't have that many rooms, so getting a group of chairs by the pool was never a problem. We're planning to go back in January, I'd totally recommend it.

@PinkElephant: We're going to Puerto Rico in February for a few days before getting on a cruise. We're staying at the Wyndham Rio Mar. it looks great, especially for the price. We're paying about $200/night. There were some resorts I didn't consider that looked great but were $500-$800/night.

It seems pretty easy to rent a car, and you can also rent a car seat. If you rent with Hertz and have AAA, they will give you a discount off the rental and include a free car seat.

The bonus of PR too is that you don't need passports for everyone. We need ones for the cruise we're taking and it was a big hassle getting them taken care of and my normally sweet and smiley baby decided she just wanted to howl while getting her picture. We then had to wait for an hour in line at the post office to do all the paper work. Ugh.

@PinkElephant: we brought our travel seat (cosco scenera). Also check it the nytimes. There was recently an article in the travel section about a resort in the Caribbean that also provides a nanny for your stay. That might be an option
Yeah three car seats could be tricky. Three sceneras can be installed aide by side, but lugging all of them would be annoying.
We live in the NYC area fwiw; I find the flights to the Caribbean totally doable but on the longer side. Florida/Bahamas you are there before you know it. Our thought as we were there was "this is so easy we should do it more often!!"

@PinkElephant: my husband and I used air bnb last time which was great and have also stayed at smaller hotels. There are resorts up by San juan, but fewer in other parts of the island and we usually gravitate to the smaller places away from the big city.

@erinbaderin: In that case, I'd totally be interested in a kids' club! :) Most of the places I've been require kids to be at least three years, so I said we didn't need it since I assumed DD3 wouldn't be eligible. Thanks!

@pachamama: @Littlebit7: Thanks! A friend just took her kids who are the same ages as DD1 and DD2 to Naples and had a blast! I think I am probably saving Florida for a full-family vacation...cheaper flights are key when we're buying 4 tickets for five people instead of 2 tickets for 3 people! @Littlebit7: Did you rent a carseat, or bring yours? My one hesitation about a driving-required destination is that I (a) need to rent a car that will hold 3 carseats and (b) need to procure 3 carseats when we arrive.

@PawPrints: @snarkybiochemist: Thanks, both! Do either of you have specific resort or area recommendations for those destinations? I have to admit that in the end-of-school-year craziness, I'm probably not going to be able to take time to do my own research before I book, and will just do limited research off of recommendations :)

@pachamama: ditto this. We were just in Florida for a week with our two year old. The flight was SO easy and cheap. Like $200. And so quick! We love the Turks and Caicos but Florida was just so easy. We have been to the Turks with our daughter (and several times as a couple and family trips) when she was about 11 months. It was fun but not as easy. We typically stay at higher end resort type places, but in Florida we did a nice condo with a pool and kitchen and rental car and it was so relaxing. 3 min to beach, no pressure to go out, easy meals in and a baby monitor so we could chill at the pool.

We went to Coconut Bay in St Lucia and looooved it. I know you said a kids club wasn't necessary but that have one that takes kids as young as 3 months, or you could just use their room for naps and they give you a cell phone and will call when the baby wakes up. They also have babysitting.

I've been to a lot of beaches and man, Florida has some awesome options. We just went to Tampa/Clearwater and our 16 month old loves it. Cheap, great Southwest direct flight of 2.5 hours, no passport or international flight, Florida is very kid friendly. It was better and less stressful that I thought.

Looking for ideas for a 5-7 day beach vacation in July or August with a nine month old while my in laws watch our 3 and 5 year olds. We will be leaving from the NYC area, prefer a relatively short flight (5 hrs or less), and are looking for higher end. We don't need kids club facilities, but wouldn't mind babysitting services for 1-2 nice dinners out.

We went to Rosewood Tucker's Point in Bermuda last august for a babymoon, and liked it enough to go back, but want to explore other similar options for this summer since we no longer have the Zika factor to worry about.

Thanks for any suggestions!
