I think I'm leaning toward Sanibel Island...with the Outer Banks, NC, (probably Ocracoke), or beach-front South Carolina near Charleston (Kiawah Island or thereabouts) as close runners-up. I know that a lot of times cheaper tickets include more stops though, so we probably could have gotten cheaper tickets going that route. Our cost was $600 total for a direct flight to Cancun. </p> <p>Maybe write down 4-5 options and look at flights? If that is not an option, then I vote Florida. I have never been to the Sanibel area, but I hear it's gorgeous.</p> <p>I think a big consideration might be how you are feeling at that stage in pregnancy. There are some gorgeous beachfront resorts and some nice all-inclusives too. I've been to several of the islands, and they all have something to offer. I honeymooned at St. Lucia, which I loved. We stayed at an awesome resort called Ladera. So lovely.</p> <p>We are doing key largo in March, which would also be nice in June! Condos are easier with toddlers, though. Airfare not being too ridiculously expensive (Hawaii was around $1000/each) is a priority and I guess it would be nice if it were nice and warm...but not too hot. We're pretty casual folks...my only real requirements for a good beach vacation are relative privacy, pretty vistas, and good food (though preferably not all upscale all the time).</p> <p>The Outer Banks are a favorite. Neither of us has been to Florida (at least not for a very long time), but I've thought of visiting Sanibel-Captiva for a while. I've actually also never been to much of the Gulf coast, other than TX (as a kid)... What other places do you think would fit the bill? Where would you go? </p>
