It's hard to say. As dogs get older they get lots of weird bumps. Most of the time they are benign but I would still get it checked out. Dr will probably do a needle asperite and look at the cells under the microscope. It's better to get it looked at now while it's still small than to wait until it gets bigger in case it needs to be removed and the dr needs to take big margins (its in a funky spot) good luck! I took him to the vet, yesterday actually, and they told me it was a sebaceous adenoma (benign but could get bigger and bother him). We decided to have it removed in a few weeks when he has his teeth cleaned. The vet told me that this type of benign mass looks very similar to a much more serious type. She was only able to differentiate with a needle aspiration so it's probably a good idea to have it looked at. This morning when I showed my husband, that was the only one. When I went to check on it just now I noticed a new one on the opposite leg but same area. </p> <p>Any guesses?</p> <p>ETA: picture one is the one I noticed yesterday.
