@Foodnerd81: Yeah, DH loves it but I'm a little hesitant to wear DD in something that boy - and I'm not usually one to exclude something for being too boy! I'm still trying to debate on which pattern thats boy/girl friendly

@Myicitygirl: Duke is my favorite pattern. If we have a boy that's the one I want for sure, but I feel like it's too boyish for a girl (even though it's more of a reflection of the parent wearing it).

I'm so glad to see all the love for the Beco Gemini-- that's what I'm planning on getting too.

@HabesBabe: Yeah, that was what I thought I was seeing too. I want to be able to wear my baby forward, though, so I'll stick with the Gemini and not wait for the Soleil.

@NaturallyCathy: It looks like the Soleil comes with a hood and different panels you can swap out, and you can't do a forward-facing front carry.

I love our Beco! It's much easier to put on by myself than the Ergo, and C (9 months, 20 lbs) feels very comfy and secure in it.

@NaturallyCathy: it looks like most of the gemini patterns have a black or dark brown base and straps, so my tip may not be that relevant. There are some pretty all print patterns, like the Jewel or Paige Overall, and there is a nice gray color on the Beco website, perhaps those colors would hold up against spit up. This is our butterfly:

Well, I have the Beco Butterfly (which I LOVE but is being discontinued), but as far as color goes, spit up and saliva will show very prominently on black straps, so we went with a taupe color and it still looks great after a year of spit up and washing. So I recommend staying away from patterns with a black body and straps. My friend had a black bjorn and it looked so pitiful with the spit up stains and fading from washing.

@NaturallyCathy: i'm not sure if i'm the best to ask, because we didn't start wearing him on our backs until recently (10 months) -- no reason, i'm sure we could've began earlier! i think we were just used to wearing him on the front and enjoyed it!

it is a bit trickier to get him on our back than the front, but after doing it a few times it gets smooth.

p.s. i'm not sure if everyone does this, but i prefer crossing the straps across my back when i wear him on the front. easier to put on, and feels nice!

I have it too, and also love it. DD is just 10 weeks, but we've been using it for over a month already, so your six week old will fit fine. It's easy to put on alone, and it easily adjusts between my side DH's size. I've even carried DD in it on an airplane, and she slept the whole way.

@MsLipGloss: Great, thanks! I'm actually getting super excited about our first zoo trip and I know we'd be out and about for a while and I want another option for her other than just in the stroller so I'm glad it wears well for a while!

@Ginger333: That's my problem, all of the different styles are all so cute in their own way. Like 'Serenity'? Seriously pretty. And it would match my style but DH actually suggested the owl one. I can't wait to ask him if he'd wear it :D

@tysonja: How old was your LO when you started wearing them on the back? I know @Beebug: mentioned wearing it on the back (which is one of the features I love) but I forgot to ask when!

@Beebug: That's super sweet :) I think DH will mostly be in charge of our toddler though so I'll probably be the one wearing her most often. But who knows - he may decide he wants a break and wants to cuddle his daughter while I chase our son!

The Beco Gemini is an awesome carrier! LO loves it (we just do inward facing, but she still loves it!), and I can put it on in just a few seconds. Seriously. It's super easy, even by yourself! I have worn her for several hours (3ish) and didn't have any pain in my shoulders/back/hips. She is 7.5 months and 16 pounds.

We bought this pattern:

DH friendly with a little bit of less plain! I am so glad we bought this carrier. LO loves it, loves going front facing and inward facing on the front, and we just tried her on our back on the weekend and she also loved it! I've washed it and hung it to dry, looks brand new once all dry. Love the quality and worth the $ for us. I have loaned it to a few friends with other carriers and their comments are always how much more supportive it is than their carriers and they feel like they could wear it all day (as could DH and I, it's comfortable and supportive!)

We started using it when LO was 8w, she is now 6m and it has been great to this point :)

@mamabolt: Thank you! I'm kinda in love with the owl pattern but I'm not usually one who makes a statement with my accessories. But it's an owl! And I'm hoping to do back carries with my 14 month old maybe. He's about 25 pounds. I think it would be great if I can use it for both babies for a little while!
