There are some pretty all print patterns, like the Jewel or Paige Overall, and there is a nice gray color on the Beco website, perhaps those colors would hold up against spit up. So I recommend staying away from patterns with a black body and straps. DD is just 10 weeks, but we've been using it for over a month already, so your six week old will fit fine. It's easy to put on alone, and it easily adjusts between my side DH's size. LO loves it (we just do inward facing, but she still loves it!), and I can put it on in just a few seconds. Seriously. It's super easy, even by yourself! I have worn her for several hours (3ish) and didn't have any pain in my shoulders/back/hips. I am so glad we bought this carrier. LO loves it, loves going front facing and inward facing on the front, and we just tried her on our back on the weekend and she also loved it! I've washed it and hung it to dry, looks brand new once all dry. Love the quality and worth the $ for us.
