@LovelyPlum: DH used our Butterfly (which the soleil replaced) with the insert from the very beginning comfortably.

@lawbee11: I'm so glad to hear that you love it! It looks like such a great carrier. And the insert doesn't look so bad. I imagine it could get hot, but I'm due in April in upstate NY-we have a bet as to whether or not there will be snow on the ground when I go into labor. I think I have a while to worry about baby overheating :)

@Navy_Mommy: that's what I was thinking, too. I just wasn't sure whether or not it would be good to use in the beginning.

Soleil times a million.

The Gemini only has proper leg support for tiny babies, the soleil will be ergonomically safe MUCH longer.

@LovelyPlum: I have the Soleil and love it! DD is only 6 weeks so we haven't gotten a ton of use out of it, but I have worn it around the house a few times. I did purchase the infant insert and she always falls asleep in it so I assume she likes it (the insert is supposed to be used until your baby reaches 15lbs). It comes with a hood, so you don't have to purchase one separately unless you want the fabrics to match (the one that comes with it is solid black).

Do you have either? Do you like it? Pros/cons?

I know that the Soleil can hold a bigger baby, but you need an infant insert. The Gemini can forward face, but that doesn't seem as big of a deal to me. I like that you can get a hood for the Soleil and that it has a pocket, but I wonder if it would be a pain to use the infant insert at first. How long do you typically need them, any ideas?

Thanks!
