@simplyfelicity: I think the padded one in front and plastic on the others is a great solution. My DS never chewed on it, so I never even considered one.

Ours never gnawed on the crib so I would say one side for now! But your idea sounds good too! When they are older they will also pull the ribbons off unless you double knot it.

I am now thinking about getting one in the front for looks and then just using the plastic guards over the other three sides. Cute, but still economical. Love it!

All four, or three at absolute minimum. The last two kids I nannied for chewed their cribs up, and not just on one side. If anything, the short end facing the door got it the worst.

@lawbee11: My godson chewed literally half a post off of his crib. I don't know how he didn't get splinters that's how bad it was!

@simplyfelicity: LO put teeth marks in every side that was the same height...the back was much higher (and curved), so he couldn't reach that side, but the other 3 were fair game!

We have a teething guard on 3 sides, but the back of our crib is much higher. I'd do at least 3 sides, possibly all 4 sides, since your crib is the same height all the way around.

Since I am going to forgo a bumper for the crib, I decided to get a fun teething guard. This is my first LO, so I am not really sure how many sides it should cover. Would you cover just the long side facing out, three sides or all the way around? Obviously, the fewer sides the cheaper but I don't want to regret not covering the whole thing. FWIW, we are getting a pretty inexpensive crib and all sides are the same height and it will go against the wall.
Here are some pics for reference...
Thanks!
