We give them table food but not what we eat. What we eat is way too salty for them. I like to add like no salt. They are a year. I'm starting to let them eat pieces of food we buy though or are offered elsewhere. Like today, we had some kimbap at church, like Korean sushi, and I let them have some.

Edit: they have a ton of teeth.

We started transitioning her over maybe starting around 8 months or so. Now at a year she eats mostly what we eat... except for the nights when I don't have our dinner prepared in time for her dinner time. Then I'll feed her some leftovers or make her a pot of Annie's mac & cheese.

Around 8 months we started with table food. I was worried because LO has no teeth, but the pediatrician said that we don't cheat with our front teeth anyway, so not to be concerned. We make sure the foods are mashable with our fingers and in small pieces. We've had no issues and LO has had meatballs, chicken (small pieces and she does great), rice, a little bread, all sorts of veggies and fruit, eggs, cheese and yogurt. She still does not totally eat what we eat, but we feed her mostly table food. When we go out to eat we usually give her some bread and order some steamed veggies to give her. She loves them! I think the biggest thing will be how he handles the textures/chunks. I would suggest making his purees a bit chunkier and trying some puffs to see how he does. At first she wasn't a fan of the chunks but eventually we could tell she was ready to progress. And once the started on table food, there was no turning back. We can only get her to eat fruit purees now.

Right around 7 mos. he had two teeth but I don't think it made much of a difference since he wasn't really chewing with them.

We tried with J but he wanted nothing to do with anything but purees until he was 10 months, but now he's SO bored with purees! We just let him decide when he was ready.

I don't see why you couldn't start now. They can mash with their gums. Try it out!

around 7.5 months. he only has 2 front teeth which he doesn't use for eating since everything we give him is already small enough to fit in his mouth.

Around 7 months; well before she had any teeth (she only has 3 teeth now, at 10 months). They can mash things with their gums pretty well, so I just made things were soft enough for her to mash and cut into smallish pieces.

I started around 9 months. She didn't have any teeth but she could eat things that were super soft (soup, tofu, congee). I just made sure they were in very very small pieces.

We started at 7 months (she is almost 8 months), and she has no teeth. She eats mostly what we eat. Today we had zuchinni, potatoes and Turkey burgers but she only had the veggies. She isn't eating any meat yet.

We started E off on purees but I can't wait until he's just eating what we eat!

Did you wait until LO had teeth before feeding them what the rest of the family is eating or did you basically just let them suck on the pieces? E doesn't have any teeth yet and I'm assuming this will be easier once he does..
