LO1 was stung by an asp (stinging caterpillar) last summer while walking with the nanny - she was pretty traumatized in the moment, but was fine after she put some ice on it.

He's been stung a few times. Kid can't leave them alone. Same with ants. Sometimes I have to wonder about him. 😂

@mediagirl: OH NO!!!! :( Glad she is ok. I think the allergy can only happen after the 2nd sting?

But ouch! I've only been stung twice and almost fell off a huge structure the first time just from the surprise.
Hoping I never have to deal with my boy getting stung.

ETA for the future, if ice is not available, mud made with cool water is very nice for the sting pain.

Yes, she was stung right in the middle of her forehead last year. She was traumatized, but is not scared of them now. I'm terrified of them so I try to stay calm too because I don't want her to inherit my fear.

Yes. Last year at the park. She put her hand on these steps that they can climb and it was under it. She still remembers it. She cried the whole way home till we got some ice on it. I was so glad that she wasn't allergic but my SMIL (doctor) said that really they have to be stung twice before you really know if they are allergic.

No, but I'm super paranoid about allergies too! Glad she wasn't too traumatized by it, and that she's not allergic!

Has your lo ever been stung by a bee or wasp? I'll admit one of my big worries was allergic reactions to a bee sting. Well, today we found out she isn't allergic.... A wasp had been hanging around our table at the pool and eventually landed on our 3 year old when i wasn't looking and stunt her on the abdomen. She shrieked, came to me for a hug and then was fine. Such a trooper!

Has your child ever been stung?
