For my son they told me around 6lbs and he was born at 8lbs 8 ozs so way off. For my daughter they said 7 lbs 11ozs she was 7lbs 14 ozs so almost dead on. So weird!

No, although they didn't do any official measurements past 20 weeks. OB and midwife kept telling me he would be normal size, 7 1/2 lbs. He was born at 41 weeks and was 9lb 2oz and 22 " long....and I am only 5'3"...

nope. they guessed my first to be measuring small (she was chubby - just curled in a ball). my second they estimated to be bigger and she was a PEANUT! barely six lbs!

Midwife guessed just by feeling around my belly that DD would be between 7-7.5 lbs and she was 7lbs4oz. I didn't have an ultrasound past 18 weeks.

My first LO was way off. But that was based on the ultrasound at 20 something weeks. They guessed at that point a 7-8lbs baby and he ended up at 9.8lbs. This time we've had several ultrasounds and each time he is consistently measuring a week ahead just like his brother probably was. So we are inducing but I will be 39 weeks at induction and I'm already dilated to 3 cm. So it shouldn't be a problem if it's off.

They way overestimated with both. They told me 9+ pounds with the first (I was so freaked out!) and he wasn't quite 7. I laughed when they told me the same the second time, he was just over 7 lbs.

Ours were very accurate - they estimated my first son wold be a bit over 8 pounds and he was 8lb 2oz.

My second they delivered early because I had gestational diabetes, and at 38 weeks they said it looked like he was already a bit bigger than his brother was at 40 weeks...and they were right, he was 4oz heavier!

So I got a lot of grief from maternal fetal with my second pregnancy. I saw them frequently for GD, and they were concerned about the lower than average weight of LO2. So I had to see them even more frequently. I tried to explain that I'm petite and my first only weighed 5 lbs 13 oz at 38w + 4d. LO2 was born weighing 6 lbs, which is more than they estimated. His weight was never a concern at birth, and he continues to be a pretty small guy just like his older brother.

Yep. My midwife estimated (just by feeling, the u/s tech wouldn't guess) that she would be about 8lb if born on time, and +/- half a pound for every week she was early or late. She was born a week late at 8 lb 4oz.

Nope, they did a growth US for short fundal height at 37 weeks. LO was measured to be 7lbs 8oz. She was born at 40w5d and weighed 6lb 10oz. She should have been about 9lbs by then if she was the size they said at 37 weeks.

LO2 should come any day now. He measured 7lbs 6oz at 38 weeks.

Ours were way off. A was 1 lb smaller than estimated and B was smaller by 2 lb. These were measurements done at maternal fetal medicine with vey sensitive equipment, but they were obviously off by a lot. We were all shocked by their small sizes! But they were twins and things were crammed up in there so I think that contributed.

It was accurate. I think it is more accurate if the measurement is based on multiple ultrasounds, which I had, because it is less likely they will all be off in the same direction. The OB estimated that DS would be slightly bigger than average, but nothing crazy, about 7.5-8 pounds, and he was 7 pounds 15 ounces.

Nope! I had an ultrasound on the day I was induced (which is why I was induced, low fluid...) and they said lo was going to be 7lbs (and that's part of why they were okay going ahead with the induction, I was 37 weeks)--she actually weighed 5lbs 13 oz. That's a huge difference! She was tall/average height though--19in--which explains why the measurement was so off, I think--I know they measure their leg length

ehhhh.... It was a pretty rudimentary guess. I went into labor at 38 weeks... when I arrived at L&D the nurse felt around and did a quick ultrasound to check position.... she asked if my dr had given me a weight estimate at my last appointment when I told her no she said she thought about 7lbs.... She was 7lbs 12oz ....
