@Mrs. Pen: I am currently using raw shea butter on my belly. Not for stretchmark prevention since you cant prevent them but to ease the tightness, itchy and soreness. With my first pregnancy I didnt really use any special oil or cream. I just used my regular lotion which was st ives at the time

I liked Mama Mio's Tummy Rub Butter.. Kind of pricey but I only got 1 tiny stretchmark near my hip out of 3 pregnancies. And, FWIW I gained over 50lbs each time LOL.

You can find it on Amazon and BBB (20% off coupon)

@Mrs. Pen: I have so many stretch marks. I actually put some Burts Bees coconut foot cream on them today because I was itchy and it worked! My skin looks a bit better and hasn't itched at all today.

@yin: my sister only got a very select few (very low- she couldn't even see them until after she had her babies). And my mom didn't have many either. So I'm in the super unlucky club with you. They're everywhere.

I used some the first time and didn't get any. I'm using some this time and hopefully I won't get any! I know I can get them because I have really old ones on my inner thighs and hips. I just think I'm tall enough that I didn't get super big and that helped me not to get any. I don't think it was the oil, but I like the moisture and figure it can't hurt.

I used the Mama Bee butter from Burt's Bees my first (and only) pregnancy because it was so much cheaper than other types. I liked it, it was plenty moisturizing! You can get a tub on Amazon for like $10 I think.

I'm 20 weeks with my 2nd and I haven't really done anything  I already use coconut oil as my body lotion. I got stretch marks (more on my butt/thighs) anyway the first time.

I used it the first time and still ended up with stretch marks. I gave up the second time around and added a few more stretch marks to my collection.

The thing that irks me is that my mom didn't get any stretch marks with 5 pregnancies and neither did my two sisters. I must be unlucky.

Yep, I started using it really early as well because it just felt good. In the morning after my shower, I was using Mama Mio's Tummy Rub Butter but it's pretty expensive so I switched to Burt's Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter and I've found that it works just as well. At night before bed, I use Mama Mio's Tummy Rub Oil. So far so good at 37 weeks but if I get more stretch marks, so be it. I got the ones from my first pregnancy super late at 39.5 weeks so if I'm going to get more, I expect to get them late.

I used bio oil with my first and didn't get any stretch marks ( I was shocked, because I got them on my hips and boobs during puberty), so I'm using it again this time around!

I got really bad stretch marks with my first and started using Bio Oil before I was pregnant again. I think it did help the marks fade and improve skin quality. I've continued to use it while pregnant with number two, although I know it's not preventing anything.

I may have used even more belly cream with my second than my first! I was pregnant over the winter into spring vs. summer so my belly was super itchy all the time. I really liked the Body Shop cocoa butter body butter.

I just used the cetaphil lotion that I use for my toddler's dry skin. I was lucky and didn't get any stretch marks with either, which I'm sure was genetics not lotion. So yeah less picky, same result.

My first pregnancy, the use of oil/cream was all about preventing stretch marks. They happened anyway and are everywhere so that's not the concern this time- ha!
So my question is- did you still get a cream/oil for second pregnancy? Were you as picky about brand/choice? I remember my stomach being so itchy so I'll still get some mostly for that.

Any recommendations? There are so many options out there these days.
