Thanks for the info and advice everyone! My LP is 10-11 days long so I don't know if it would be worth taking something extra to lengthen it. But so good to know what the purposes of all those supplements are!

And I think I will ask my gyn at my regular appointment that's scheduled for a few weeks from now about next steps. Definitely would like to know if anything is working against us so we can get that game plan.

Thanks again

How long is your LP? Vitex and B are for lengthening your LP if it's too short. Otherwise I would just stick to the prenatals. (You could start taking D3 and DHA - if not now then definitely once you get pregnant. Not to help conceive but for the baby's benefit once you do).

If you guys are eager to do everything you can to conceive, your next step could be for your DH to get a semen analysis.

My RE had me taking DHEA, which was supposed to help with egg quality. I'm not sure if I ever really needed it, but I did have some good quality eggs at retrieval (and one that turned into a fetus  )

DH's urologist had him on CoQ10 for sperm quality. He actually had extremely poor morphology.

I would definitely not wait too long to get a work up with an RE. It's so much easier know what you're dealing with and have a game plan. Good luck!

My RE recommended CoQ10 to help with egg quality, so maybe read up on that? One thing I'd recommend is to not wait too too long to see an RE, if you feel like you may have trouble conceiving. I "just relaxed" for a couple of years when we first started trying, hoping it would happen naturally, and it never did. I wish I had started the process with the RE much earlier.

If your cycles are regular, I would say you don't need B or vitex. I needed those to help lengthen and regulate my cycle. If you're worried about the quality and quantity of your CM, you might try evening primrose oil capsules.

So I'm 32 and on cycle #7 of TTC for my first. I have regular cycles, I chart and I use OPKs, and we have had pretty good timing but no luck so far.

I have heard a lot of talk about vitamin B and "vitex" on various threads... what exactly do these do and should I consider taking them? Should I consult a doctor first? Anything else that I'm not thinking of that will increase our chances? Acupuncture? Or do I want the year and see a doc? Sooo many questions :silly:

DH and I want to do everything we can to conceive sooner than later, so I'm willing to start thinking outside the box here but don't want to drive myself insane by buying all sorts of supplements and even messing my body up by being overeager.

Thanks
